Default Telus Pik TV

Anyone here using Telus Pik TV?
https://www.telus.com/en/ab/tv/pik/

I'm thinking of dropping my cable and switching to this instead. Seems much lower in cost and I only watch a few basic channels anyway.

Only downside I see if no PVR, but wondering if there's a workaround for that somehow.

This looks terrible.
No PVR.
It runs online but gives me internet 25 with 150GB data limit, that's going to last me a week with all streaming services. Upgrading to internet 50 and unlimited data is an extra $20/month.
The options for the 5 included channel are terrible, I don't even want 5 of those.
Add Sportsnet for Flames games and I'm up to $95/month.

My parents got this as a few months ago, and I think they're planning on going back to Shaw as soon as possible. It seems to freeze up all the time. When it works, the picture is pretty good but seems to be only slightly more reliable than illegal online streaming.

One thing to note is that any channels streaming through it don't count against your data limit.

Good points on the rest.

Fair point, I missed that. Still kind of stands though, with that selection of garbage channels you're relying heavily on Netflix/Kodi/whatever.
