Awful news, she was terrific in the first two Superman films. Her chemistry with Christopher Reeves was perfect. She's going to be missed greatly

Yeah, she was pretty iconic in those films.

She had a long struggle against Bipolar disorder as well and seemed to over come it.

RIP Lois Lane

She was also great in the 1974 Canadian horror classic, Black Christmas. This movie freaked me out when I was a kid.

I vaguely remember meeting her briefly when they were filming Body of Evidence in my neighbors houses. Got to watch a bunch of the outdoor shots from my bedroom window, quite a sight for a kid to see.

First solo trip I ever took as a teenager, I was playing pinball in an airport and she was using the pay phone right next to me.

Much like how Christopher Reeve will always be the Superman, Margot Kidder will always be the Lois Lane.

Trivia answer, he was in Superman III, also the only Hollywood celebrity that I exchanged the cool guy head nod with in my life.

Margot Kidder's death ruled a suicide

Quote:
HELENA, Mont. -- "Superman" actress Margot Kidder's death has been ruled a suicide, and her daughter said Wednesday it's a relief to finally have the truth out. Kidder, who played Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve's Superman in her most famous role, was found by a friend in her Montana home on May 13.

At the time, Kidder's manager, Camilla Fluxman Pines, said Kidder died peacefully in her sleep.

A statement released Wednesday by Park County coroner Richard Wood said the 69-year-old Kidder "died as a result of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose" and that no further details would be released.
Quote:
Maggie McGuane, Kidder's daughter by her ex-husband Thomas McGuane, told The Associated Press in a phone interview that she knew her mother died by suicide the moment authorities took her to Kidder's home in Livingston, a small town near Yellowstone National Park.

"It's a big relief that the truth is out there," she said. "It's important to be open and honest so there's not a cloud of shame in dealing with this."

Kidder's death is one of several high-profile suicides this year that include celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and fashion designer Kate Spade.

McGuane noted that Montana has one of the highest suicide rates in the nation and she urged people with mental illness to seek help.

"It's a very unique sort of grief and pain," McGuane said. "Knowing how many families in this state go through this, I wish that I could reach out to each one of them."

I never noticed that Gene Hackman hasn’t acted in 14 years. Looked at his filmography, he went out in style with some bad comedy with Ray Romano called Welcome To mooseport.

Welcome to Mooseport is one of the saddest films I've ever watched.

In that, it's sad to watch such a great actor in it.

Maybe he knew it was time after that? I kind of wish guys like Robert De Niro would know when to call it quits rather than extend his career almost exclusively in bad movies. He is literally one step away from co-starring with Nicolas Cage in straight to video movies.

De Niro kind of jumped the shark with “Meet The Parents” and “Analyze This”. I don’t believe if he has done any really remarkable since “Heat”.

Hackman narrated a Marine Corp recruitment video on Netflix, but haven’t seen him do any acting.

I was surprised Ned Beatty is still around. For some reason I thought he had passed away.

There was nothing wrong with De Niro in Meet the Parents. It was a solid movie and he played his role great. Of course the sequels were a different animal.

Odd that you would pick that role when that same year he played Fearless Leader in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle....
