Fascinating Flames History: Atlanta's "Babes of Winter" & Video Clip
I'd like to thank everyone for their comments regarding my initial FFH thread.
In my second installment, I'll take you back to 1975, when our beloved Flames were still based in Atlanta, Georgia. This book was written by 2 Atlanta journalists who covered the Flames, and provides a pretty good summary of the first 3 years of the franchise. I consider the Atlanta years an important chapter of the history of the Calgary Flames, and I hope our ownership group recognizes the 50 year anniversary in 2022.
I bought this book on eBay, and it was a great read. Here are the first two chapters, plus the Introduction and a summary of the first season. You will notice that the first year jerseys had a bit different striping. The look that came north with the team was introduced in year two.
Enjoy!

They were an easy team to like when they got their franchise as they did pretty well as an expansion team. I was a bit of a fan and was really happy when they moved here.
