What's with bands that have no business playing the Saddledome suddenly playing the Saddledome since Covid hit? Do these bands think they're going to hit massive crowds simply because people haven't seen live music in awhile?

It's weird because the bands playing there didn't even play the Corral before Covid, so you can't even say it's because we lost that venue.

The Offspring, Arkells, Dallas Smith? I mean the offspring were playing Grey Eagle and Cowboys on previous tours, now 80% of the Saddledome is $108 tickets? lol.

Looking at the seating chart all three of these shows have almost nothing sold by Saddledome standards. Maybe 2-3k for Arkells and Offspring. Dallas Smith looks to have 500 tickets sold, lol.

The Arkells played the dome Feb 2019 and it was quite full.

Looking forward to Andrew Schulz coming to Jack singer with his comedy tour!

The Menzingers are awesome. I think it was DowninFlames or someone here that mentioned them in the new music thread and I became a fan.

Hopefully, this new variant doesn't get any more shows canceled or rescheduled.

DFA 1979 in March at the palace
Royal Blood in April at Mac Hall
Primus in June at the grey eagle

Jim Jeffries is coming back in April

Hamilton is coming to the jubilee for two weeks in July. Just snagged four tix to a Saturday night show for me and the family. $250 a pop though. Ouch! But I did save $50 because I’m a u of c alumni.

Offspring concert just cancelled.

A sign of things to come....?

Cancellation (or potential further delay) of Rage Against the Machine in May seems inevitable, but who knows.

Zach and Tom will be in a geriatric ward when they finally roll through.

Corb Lund has 5 shows booked for end of January at the Palamino/ King Eddy for end of January that are now pushed to end of April. Holding tight on the Rage show, but they have in the past stated they won't play reduced capacity shows.

I have tickets, flights and hotel booked for the Drive By Truckers in Feb- thinking it's not going to happen

I knew Dexter had a PHD in some science, but did not know it was in molecular biology.

I guess when your lead singer is a virologist... LOL.

"Holland has a Ph.D. in molecular biology and wrote his thesis on microRNA in HIV genomes. The 175-page research paper, titled "Identification of Human MicroRNA-Like Sequences Embedded within the Protein-Encoding Genes of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus", had been published in PLoS One. Holland had received his Ph.D. from University of Southern California in 2017."

I guess Aug/Sept is fine for Rage. Only been waiting 20 years, what’s another few months. Just as long as it happens when I’m in town.

Slipknot scheduled shows through Western Canada in April except for Calgary, wonder why?

Yeah that one’s odd. Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon and Edmonton but no Calgary. That’s not just a “dome is old” issue.
