I think Federer is putting everything he has into one more Wimbledon run. I do hope he returns next year because it would be a travesty to have Federer leave with an empty arena.

Nice win by Jannik Sinner over Aslan Karatsev today - After getting bageled in set one, he wins the next two sets 6-3 6-4. This kid is the complete package and only 19 years old.

Darn, Shapo and Cecchinato were on court and about to warm up when the skies open up with another downpour. Not sure if they're even going to get a chance to play today.

The rain has passed and Shapo - Marco are back on court. Late night tennis in Geneva.
Edit: Spoke too soon. Might as well call it for the day and try again on Thursday.

Wow, Cam Norrie just beat Thiem 6-3 6-2 in just a little over an hour.

What's going on with Thiem, he's usually the 2nd best clay court player but since winning the US Open he has regressed big time. He's 27 which isn't young but certainly he should still have lots of great tennis left. Hes the same age as Federer was in the epic 2008 Wimbledon match to put it in perspective.

Arthur Rinderknech (currently ranked #125) is a service hold away from sending Jannik Sinner packing in Lyon. It actually is his 2nd chance of holding serve to win the match.
Edit: Rinderknech serves it out to love. The home crowd certainly helped him as well as Sinner being out-of-sorts.

it's like he used up every last drop of his tennis soul to win USO last year, and has been a shadow ever since. I also thought he mentioned something about the pandemic tour being especially difficult mentally, but he still hasn't turned it around even with the sound of cheers in the stands again. maybe it's a long covid thing?

Shapo and Djere are coming up shortly - If Denis can win today (it won't be easy as Djere is a heck of a clay court player), he will face Pablo Cuevas who just eliminated Dimitrov in straight sets.

Shapo breaks and is serving for the opening set at 5-4. Hasn't been vintage Shapo today, but that was a fine return game to earn the break.
Edit: A little shaky, but Denis takes the opening set 6-4

Shapo plays two matches today and wins two matches today as he advances 6-4 6-4 over Laslo Djere. Up next is Pablo Cuevas in the semi-finals.

Better news for Denis though as he is through to the final after his win over Pablo Cuevas earlier today. It's going to be a very tough match against Casper Ruud.
