i am hooked on this stuff right now, so tasty. more flavor than your standard ale or lager, but not so thick that you need a fork and knife like Guinness

Probably not as gross as this beer that I saw in the liquor store the other day. It was called: "Ridin' Dirty" and it was sold in plastic 2L bottles and was 11% or so.

Steamwhistle is the worst beer I've ever tasted. I live near T.O. and they have tried to push that beer in bars for years and no one ever drinks it since it tastes awful.

Wild Rose Brewery, has some excellent beers, their Brown Ale is a great beer, as is there Bitter, as well as their Stout. They are located on the old base, and share the old clothing stores building with J Webb Wines.

Steam Whistle is good beer. Not too heavy. If you're going for the long haul it's pretty easy to keep drinking those without getting bloated.
|
I don't find Steam Whistle to be all that bad. Far better than Molson or Labatt's beers, that's for cetain. But I prefer to stick to Beck's or Pilsner Urquel for the long haul. Light, but still tasty and they don't have that skunky Heiniken taste.

A few weeks ago Hulkrogan, Stonecole, and I (Along with a few friends) were in T.O. and found a bar called Bier Markt.
That place was so AWESOME.
They had like 150 kinds of beer, probalby 60 of which were on tap and they had special glasses for every kind.
My favorite was a Pilsner called Krombacher, damn that stuff was good.
I also ordered a $50 Belgian Trappist beer (I ordered the 1500ml magnum, but only got the $25 750ml bottle but I wasn't too upset) and it was pretty good. Not something I'd want to drink while watching a hockey game, but pretty interesting, besides I was on vacation.
And I found this crazy Starwberry beer (I know it's super gay) called Fruli (I don't know how to put an umlaut above the "u") but I found it again at Crowfoot liquor store, and if you ever want to convince a girl that all beer isn't bad, buy her some of this, I know it isn't really beer, but hot damn, it's just so delicious I want to put it on ice cream.

Gotta admit, I'm a beer slut. As long as it's not mass produced swill from Molson's. Labatt's, Anheuser-Busch, etc., chances are I'll like it, except for most wheat beers. Grasshopper is about the only wheat beer I've ever enjoyed. And those fruity beers ... WRaspberry and such. If I wanted something fruity I'd just drink coolers and get it over with, which I don't just for the record. And pretty much all American beer ... it's swill too. Okay, okay, so I'm a snooty beer slut. There's still way more brands of beer that I like than brands I don't. I have a preference for German and Bavarian beers in particular though.

Best. Beers. Ever.
I love their IPA too. Too bad nobody in town has anything except Velvet Fog & Wraspberry on tap anywhere. Anyone know a place that's got the Brown Ale or IPA on tap (other than the brewery).
