Default CPHL Points Percentage from 2017-2022

We decided we do an update on this to see how things changed in points percentage for the teams in the league.

The league average went down from 0.549 when including 2022 to 0.548. This goes to show some of the parity in this league and potentially reduction in extra point games.

Some of the movers in the standings were Carolina and Nashville jumping up quite a bit after their strong seasons. Leaving them 21 and 18 respectively.
San Jose after their strong season jumps upto 3rd in the standings.

Phoenix and Detroit after a disappointing season dropped a little bit from their positions at the top of the standings.

Interesting.

The majority of the most active trading GM's are in the top half (not all but most) and I don't think it is a coincidence. If something is not working you trade until it does. The last two seasons we were in the basement after 10 games and made sweeping changes to get back into it. The Wild did the same two years ago.

If you find yourself struggling early, don't ride it out, it usually doesn't work. You are better off making deals and tweaking the roster until you start winning more than you are losing.

For the teams that are hot and don't want to make move, I totally get that. For the ones that suck and don't do anything, I don't get that even if you own your own first because as we see with the draft lottery, anything can happen and no one should be banking on a #1 overall pick.

Anyone that is active can take a horrible team and make it competitive via trading fairly quickly. It's been done over and over by some of the most active GM's in this league.

Just my opinion.

At least I'm consistant, I consistantly drove this team into the toilet.
