looks like John Metchie III tore his ACL. Sucks for him, also regarding the draft.

OU hopes to finalize a deal for Brent Venables sometime today to become the next HC.

Bama, Michigan, Georgia, Cincy seems fine. So does Michigan, Bama, Cincy, Georgia.

Basically no one likes rematches, so I’m curious why you guys would want that?
The question the Comittee will have to ask themselves is what’s worse, a rematch in the semis or a potential rematch in the Championship game. An all SEC championship final is not ideal for ratings or nationwide interest (ie $$$). Match them up in the semi and it’s guaranteed one of the teams in the final is from elsewhere. Keep them separate and there’s a chance that still works out but also a chance they both win.

Especially if the reports of Lebby as OC are true. I'm in 1 million % if thats the case. I mean I'm mean 1 million if not but I like Brent more than I like Lincoln.

Get a defense that can stop somebody.

Well, its not a question of what I want or don't want.

I think the question was whether Bama should jump Michigan who was #2 at the time before the championship games and rated ahead of Bama. Bama had a better win but also a worse loss than Michigan did.

At the end of the day, I don't really care...I think that it was fait accompli that Bama would get the #1 seed as the SEC champs and the committee wasn't going to have an SEC rematch in the semis...

The good thing about the playoffs is that everything wil be determined on the field anyways

They definitely need to upgrade the D to compete in the SEC.

That's a horrible look for Miami, talk about botching a hire. Sounds like they have offered Mario Cristobal the job is he wants it but if he turns it down they will stay with Manny Diaz.

If one believes it karma one could say it’s come full circle from when Diaz left Miami to be Temple’s HC for a couple weeks before bailing on them and coming back. Dirty business this college coaching life

It's official. Diaz out, Cristobal in at Miami. $8 million per year plus $9 million to buyout Cristobal's contract at Oregon plus whatever they will pay Diaz not to coach. Now the carousel spins to Oregon who are suddenly without a coach.

Brian Kelly in a tough spot. He just lost his starting QB and is left with one on the roster (checked the depth chart and don't see any others). He's a true freshman who played in 4 games this season which means a bowl game would be his 5th and therefore burn a year of eligibility. Tough situation for the Tigers.

Jontre Kirklin who is a WR played QB in high school. Who knows if Kelly goes there.

Do bowl games outside of the CFP actually matter anymore? I mean, the coaches who left their teams surely don't care. The future NFLers who don't want to jeopardize their draft status don't care either.

No. No bowls outside the CFP matter to anyone but the friends and family of players (who aren’t nfl bound) and ESPN because they own the rights to all but 1 or 2 of the bowl games.

I still think the traditional bowls probably matter. Rose. Fiesta. Sugar. I'm not sure if the CFP rotates but cotton and orange would matter too in years they aren't hosting the CFP

Well, I think that the head coach of the winning team usually gets a bonus, and maybe the other coaches do too, so presumably they care about the bowl game (and winning it).

As always with sports degenerate gamblers care, and there are a lot of them.
