I find it weird that the uncharted trailer is getting non stop play for a February opening. Who even remembers a movie 4 months later?

I get the YouTube launch, you want to build anticipation. But hundreds of tv spots for days on end? Seems odd.

I wasn’t expecting the Buzz Lightyear movie to look like a poignant piece of animated science fiction, but here we are… this looks amazing

I guess the whole idea behind this is “what movie did Andy see that made him want a Buzz Lightyear? Let’s just make that movie.”

Ok that makes sense.

The trailer still looks so weird. It tickles the same part of the brain that those realistic cartoon characters do I think since it's a lot more realistic Buzz.

Etc..

I think Pixar has actually nailed avoiding that. Almost photorealistic animation, but with the cartooniness on characters it doesn’t like the uncanny valley feeling you get with trying to make real people in CG, and I don’t think has the creep factor like those posted above. IMO anyways.

Oh for sure the animation itself definitely isn't uncanny valley, if that was just another animated movie I wouldn't even think of it.

It's specifically Buzz, every time I see him in that trailer it feels weird, and I think that's why. It's a shift in realism for Buzz.

At least that's the only thing I can think of to explain why it looks so weird to my brain.

Yeah I agree with you there. It was a bit jarring at first. When I heard that the idea was “the movie Andy saw” it made more sense to me. Started thinking about Toy Story Buzz as the toy version of this guy and it feels right in that way I think. Even casting Chris Evans vs bringing back Allen feels natural. Like Allen’s voice is the one that would come out of the toy, but not the star of the movie’s real voice.

Anyways. Love the Bowie back track. Shades of 2001 and Interstellar.

This looks like a great story. Any day the Brits embarrass the Germans is a good day.

I dont know what to expect.

RELEASE DATE: November 22-28, 2021
DIRECTOR: Warwick Thornton
CAST: Warwick Thornton, three chickens, a dog, a mud crab

I'm pretty sure bad things happen to the mud crab. But this reminds me of that movie 'Tiger' where there were no actual Tigers in it. Because the dog is announced in the official cast but not shown in the trailer.

@0:35, with Simon Russell Beale and Jason Isaacs sharing a scene I can't not see Lavrentiy Beria and Georgy Zhukov from The Death of Stalin.

Speaking of which, for anyone that hasn't already, hunt down and watch The Death of Stalin immediately. Brilliant film.

I’m not worried but I think it looks worse than the remake.

That would qualify as 'epically terrible' because the 're-make' sucked out loud.

I have yet to even watch the remake, just can’t find the motivation.
