FWIW for senate I chose Thunders and Kinney as protest votes against the whole nomination vote and Pillay because she'd actually be a good senator IMO.

What is the over/under on votes for Kevin J. Johnston? I'd like to get in on that game. My predication is (sadly) 986.
Well my Aunt might be one of those people who thinks voicing their opinion on facebook counts as a vote. But is not I'm sure she'll be one of those.
I voted almost two weeks ago for Damary, I'm really somewhat sad that we are likely to get a far less substantive elect who is going to win on the back of unions propping her up. It's an age old story of politics being good for politics rather than being what the people need. All of that said, if Frakno wins by 1 vote I am really really going to regret my lack of strategy.
I am really hoping for a strong yes to fluoride, and a very very weak yes to equalization (I voted no, I think this is one that needs to / should be a yes, but I don't want to see these morons have a mandate to negotiate anything on my behalf especially when they so clearly have no plans or ideas they are just using the negotiation as a rhetorical tool to get their partisans riled up). I almost care about those more than people we are electing, even though I think it's ridiculous that questions like this are posed to the electorate rather than our representatives just having the balls to do their own jobs.
Ward2 I happily voted for Wyness, bascially process of elimination, didn't want anything to do with the other candidates I saw.
Other questions:
Fluoride: No
Time Change: Yes
Equalization: Yes
Senate: Davidson, Horner, Pillay (first two because they're Conservatives. Pillay because I think she's the popular 3rd choice for all the Kinney and Thunders voters plus some northern Alberta votes)
Some props:
Lowest vote share to win: Bobrovitz (<30%)
Highest vote share: Demong (90+%)
More votes between Heather or Johntson: Kevin J. Johnston
6th Place for Mayor: Grace Yan
Voter Turnout: 55%
55% is a very strong turnout. Last election was 58% which was the highest in 40 years. I don't know if this election will be 50%+ but having flouride on the ballot could definitely bring out a lot of younger parents as that is an important topic. Anecdotally I've heard a lot more people speak strongly and passionately about flouride than I have the municipal candidates
What a ####ing rigamarole voting this morning. My polling station is NOT at the address on the voter card, info guide, and tool on calgary.ca... Anyway since others were sharing:
Mayor: Gondek
Ward 11 councillor: Vanderburg
(Public) School trustee: Shirley Anderson
Fluoride: abstained
DST: no
Equalization: no
Senate: Rick Bonnett, Karina Pillay, Sunil Sookram

Reason: forgot school trustee...
Just voted at Connaught School in the Beltline. In and out in less than 10 minutes. My choices:
Mayor: Gondek
Ward 8: Walcott
Flouride: Yes
School Trustee: David Barrett (I normally don't vote for this, but Barrett is an environmental scientist opposed to the new UCP curriculum. Suck it, Kenney!)
Equalization: No
DST: No
Senate: Thunder and Kinney (in previous elections I've always spoiled my ballot for the stupid senate "election", but this was 100% a protest vote against Kenney and the UCP)
The senate votes are meaningless aren’t they? That’s what the lady at my voting booth told me lol.
Essentially, yes. The UCP can 'nominate' anyone they want. The PM and GG can/will appoint whoever they want anyhow. The only 'kicker' here is to try to make the UCP 'nominate' candidates as distasteful to their general set of values as possible.

Pretty much. It's a 100% non-binding waste of taxpayer money to vote on this. Senators are appointed by the Prime Minister. Alberta is the only province to have phony elections for senators, and in theory the Prime Minister could choose to appoint whichever senate candidate(s) are selected in this BS election, but a Liberal PM is never going to appoint a conservative senator, and a Conservative PM would never appoint someone like Jett Thunders even if he does win this "election".
I got stuck behind someone who had no idea about the Senate vote.
"I dont know anything about no Senate!"
So she didnt fill it in and of course Vote-Tron spit it out forcing the rest of us to wait while an elderly gentleman fiddled with it to make it work.
It was a good time. They were also reprehensibly stingy with those stickers.
Skipping voting senate shouldn’t have affected the scantron. I didn’t vote for senate and mine was accepted without issue. There was likely a different issue with that guys voting card.
