Awful call on the Gaudreau goal? He did the same thing for a Yamamoto goal earlier in the year. Oiler fans are dumb. Harnarayan is awesome.

I think he’s experimenting with a goal call like some PBP guys do. I don’t particularly like contrived goal calls, but it’s not like he’s alone in doing one.

I don’t know, I found that broadcast to show a lot of Oilers favouritism despite the fact they have done absolutely nothing over the past decade to warrant it. Some of the commentary was vomit inducing quite frankly.

Listening to a lot of these newer play by play guys makes me long for the days of Bob Cole and Don Wittman and Jim Robson. Those guys just called the game, no contrived goal calls and it never sounded like they were cheerleading for one team over the other.

I like it. It doesn't seem like he does it that often, the name has to phonetically work (Tkachuk wouldn't work well). And it's not this over the top celebration that some guys do, like the goal just won you the SC.
I see it as just a little tongue in cheek. The two times I have heard it, I smiled. So thumbs up from me.
