So did anything happen, or was it just lots of brooding and inner turmoil? Because if so, I think I'll pass. I want "science, bitch" Pinkman, not emo Pinkman.

I quite liked this. The show itself was a slow burn, so it would have been too jarring to have the pace suddenly change and have this epilogue be an action film.

It's not some amazing self contained and fast paced movie. It also doesn't have the big payoff feel of watching a season of Breaking Bad. I'm glad they didn't over extend themselves though by trying to go for some big revelations.

It was great to see Pinkman's story resolved.

I’ve seen bits and pieces of it but never watched all the episodes. I should probably start from the beginning one of these days. Heard a lot of good things about that series.

I thought this was a great addition to the series. Everything it added, while not necessary, gave an extra layer of depth to the characters involved. The flashbacks were great and the wrap up of Jesse’s story was, to me, well deserved and fitting. Instead of just being saved by Walt, he gets the equal sendoff he deserved.

Glad I watched it.

To me it felt like fan fiction.. it was an alright watch. Could have been at least 30 minutes shorter to. Don't regret watching it, won't ever feel the need to watch it again.

I'm kinda stunned to the lukewarm response in this thread. I thought it was pretty damn near perfect. The flashbacks were incredibly poignant, and never felt like just fan service. Particularly the shots with Mike and Walt. In both scenes you really got the root of these characters' relationships, but it really was all about Jesse. In both cases, you could see the father/mentor bond that Walt just could never achieve, and which Mike did (again, made all the more impactful with Mike's backstory with his son). In the end Jesse was guided by Jane's words. Excellent callbacks.

Interestingly, the only preview I saw was with Skinny Pete in the interrogation room, and that wasn't even in the film.

Jesse Plemons really just kills as the evil psychopath completely oblivious to being an evil psychopath.

I purposely didn't go in with any grand expectations, but it was so much better and satisfying than I could have imagined. Damn does Vince Gilligan know how to tell a story.

It's honestly better than Breaking Bad. Slower paced, but better imo. Now that you can binge several seasons it's a no brainer to watch it.

This movie was fine. They honestly could have just not bothered making it but I did enjoy watching it. It doesn't retroactively weaken the series at all either which is a big plus.

Considering Jesse was my second least liked character on BB I thought it was good. Needed more Skinny Pete and Badger and I'd liked to have seen Badger somehow get his Fiero back but all in all it was good.

That Tarantula has to be the one from "Dead Freight" right?

"Science, bitch" Pinkman died in that concrete hole.

My issue is I have a hard time taking Jesse Plemons seriously ever since seeing Game Night...

Philip Seymour Hoffman died and now Jesse Plemons is trying to look like him.

I wonder how jarring it would be to watch BB and El Camino b2b. Jesse looks a bit different, Walt’s fake baldness looks bad, Mike looks quite a bit older but the biggest one no question is the difference between skinny Todd and fat Todd. When he first appeared in flashback thru the bars it obscured his face and I thought it was intentional because he’d gained so much weight they didn’t want to show him fully. Then when we got full Todd it was quite jarring.

Haha, yes, full Todd is basically Jabba the Hutt. Pretty funny.

That's really interesting...I hadn't even thought of that. Either he took it as a trophy, or maybe he got the idea after he shot the kid.

Either way, creepy. And either way, good catch!

....Great....so now we're body shaming people too?

J/k. I found the fact that Todd had put on so much weight very odd. Particularly for an actor who was still working fairly regularly. He's actually been a little bigger for a while now, and I wonder if he did this intentionally to increase his range and not get type cast as the Todd character.

^^ They actually zoomed in on the letter for a second.

Great acting by Jesse Plemons I thought.
The part where Todd brings Jesse in to see the body. He has a "oh yeah" moment then pulls his belt off of her neck and puts it back on. What a psycho.
