2) Pick a woman, the majority of the population is female and it really is time. There are a few obvious good candidates to choose from, personally I like Raitt.
3) Don't run on tax and service cuts, people want their cake and wan't someone else to pay for it.
4) Stop sending out those bloody 10%ers, nobody reads them except hardcore partisans and you aren't going to change their vote.

Run on a platform of fisccal sanity. No tax cuts until the books are in order, controlled spending increases, basically stop digging the hole.

You're welcome.
Also make a climate change plan based on world wide impact and transition from fossil fuels. Run on fact and run on it proudly.

Couldn't vote blue out here, not ever voting green, did the liberal thing last election and look where it got me....

I put my vote to strategic use to block a green seat. Went NDP. I feel gross, I feel tricked now as I advanced voted and the day after Singh goes all coalition on me. I almost vomited.

I think the idea is that it shows the candidates that you want to take part in the electoral process but none of the candidates are any good.

However given that I doubt any candidates care and the fact some ballots are spoiled due to not correctly following procedure, I think you’re better off voting Rhino. Then at least it’s obvious you’re sending a message.

So ensure TMX expansion gets built, and apply a carbon tax to increase reinvested dollars in green technologies?

I read all of the platforms and voted for the one that:

1. Matched my values
2. Was a good plan for the future
3. Gave me a sense of inspiration

So my vote was a positive one.

Not that it matters because the sitting MP will win no matter what.

So, regardless of who you voted for CP, thanks for voting. It's so important, and we're privileged to be able to do so.
This. I can't stand political conversations in general as it quickly becomes a battleground with how polarized opinions are becoming..they make sports fan arch rivals look polite and measured in comparison. But I'm glad for our right to vote, just got back from placing mine.

Interesting you mention this. The Harper government passed a law taking away the vote of any ex-pat who had been out of the country for 5 years. This was challenged all the way to the Supreme Court where it was overturned. Essentially if you are a Canadian citizen it is your right to vote no matter where and for how long you are living. Where you pay taxes has nothing to do with it.

Personally I am not as connected with Canada as I once was and it would take a pretty huge issue or very inspiring leader to made me put in the effort of a mail ballot.

No Carbon tax on exports regardless of industry.

Only Carbon tax items there is a real alternative (gasoline in urban areas mainly)

Invest large sums of money into solutions that can remove Carbon independent of Carbon taxes collected

Ensure regulatory burden on Canadian Oil and Gas is minimized as getting China and India off coal is a short term win for GHGs and replacing jurisdictions that vent methane is important.

Not a fan of any federal party or leader at the moment. I decided a while ago to vote purely who I like in my riding to win, regardless of party.

The Lib and Con candidates both spoke a lot about their leaders' talking points, not a lot of mentioning of my area in particular. The Green candidate was ok, but she's very new to politics and I wasn't really interested in voting for her at this time. The more I looked into our incumbent Richard Cannings the more I was intrigued, then when I realized how pro-forestry he is I was actually quite surprised. Something that I really support. That tilted the scales for me. I've voted Lib and Con in the past, for the first time I voted NDP.

If the Liberals didn't have that clown, Trudeau, they would have had my vote
If the NDP reversed their stance on pipelines, they would have had my vote
There's nothing the Greens could have done to win my vote

It's really disappointing that Scheer was the best option for Alberta

Also, I have now voted for a different party each federal election that I've been eligible to vote in

It is supposed to be the last place you've lived before leaving Canada.
