Kristen Anderson @KdotAnderson
So cool to see Micheal Ferland's reception this morning at #Flames practice. Hugs from Tkachuk and a quick chat with Travis Hamonic before things started.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Juuso Valimaki is a full participant at practice this morning for the first time since November 23rd.

Guessing the team sends him to AHL Stockton at some point during their upcoming break. He’s missed 27 games with a high ankle sprain. #Flames

per Francis Ferland expected to play tomorrow

Eric Francis @EricFrancis
Nice hug for Micheal Ferland from Matthew Tkachuk on the visitors’ bench just before the Flames started practice. Ferland missed the game last night dealing w back issues, but feels better today and expects to play in Calgary tomorrow night.

It sure looks like Matthew Tkachuk is a "hugger."

Man, I don't know how realistic it is, but I'd love to see Ferland back on the Flames at some point.

The year has been a blast so I got no complaints but what I wouldn’t give to swap Neal for ferland in this lineup.

He was just trying to tweak the back injury a bit

Same here. He could play on virtually any line. Brings grit and skill. And no worry about upsetting the chemistry in the room - a bonus since you never know how a new guy will gel with a team.

Biggest benefit is that ferland adds another level of flexibility with the lines if injuries come up. He can play both wings. He’s had success with Gaudreau and Monahan so Lindholm can be shuffled to play wing or center on the second line if something came up. Also, as a bottom 6 player he tends to bring his physicality more which is great since that is always needed in the playoffs.

Don’t know what the cost would be yet but, for the right price, he’s a perfect guy to go after.

Is it just me, or does it look like Ferland isn't a fan of leg day?

At the same time I would love to see him cash in big time, and set up his family for life. Money is something the Flames wont be able to give him. I too am a sentimental fan, but Ferland has earned to right to a big money contract.

Awsome news.

I think, because he has been absent so long, a lot of people forget how really good he was looking when he got injured.

IMO he is, by far, the best of a great bunch of young dmen who play for this club right now. Gio replacement is his ceiling.

Statistically speaking January has been Neal's best month. hopefully this is because he is turning a corner. I have given up on him ever being a 20 goal scorer for the Flames this season, but I timely hot streak would do wonders down the stretch.
