And Kawhi just opted out of L.A.C
Maybe he come back to T.O and they go on another run?

Kawhi is most likely staying with the Clippers, just on a new contract with higher pay.

Kawhi is a mercenary. If I was LA, I'd be pissed right now that he's trying to penny pinch them despite being his home town. I don't feel sorry for them, but the guy makes a killing and wants his extra 3% or whatever. Seems like a poor PR move if anything, not that he cares about that.
As for Lowry, I also got a score alert that was indicating the Heat want Lowry and DeRozan. I personally don't believe in DeRozan being your primary scorer, but Miami seems like a good place behind Butler, maybe Lowry, and probably in line with Herro. I don't know what to make of Miami's sign and trade aside from saying I hope it can benefit the Raps long term as any 1st will be low, so there should be a push from the Raps to get a young guy. Dragic I just don't want to wear a Raptors uniform. He always seemed like a little bitch. lol

^Kawhi is probably more about years added than the money. His injury issues are always there and would be wise to get multiple guaranteed years tacked on to his contract as he enters his 30s.

If that's the case, I stand corrected.

Isn't his home town San Diego?

Was hoping for a sign and trade for Lowry so they could at least get some assets for him. Assuming him signing with Miami mean no assets coming back?
Its a shame, but that's the nature of the business unfortunately...
Bigger question now, is what is Toronto's starting backcourt? FVV and Flynn? Trent is unsigned as far as I know...
I mean, I don't know who else is available via FA, but that's not looking particularly good.

I believe in the Jays.

Twitter says it is a sign and trade with Dragic, and Precious Achuiwa coming back. Dragic would just be to match salaries, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him flipped to a contender.

According to Yahoo Sports it will be a sign and trade, not officially announced yet though.
Some speculating Dragic will get bought out, but that doesn't make sense.

thanks... i corrected my post but too late apparently lol.
I had assumed Toronto would have to sign him, then trade him to Miami...like how you would do a sign and trade in the NHL.
If Miami signed him, what is Toronto trading to Miami for these 'players to be named later'?
I admit I don't know how a sign and trade in the NBA works however

Achuiwa isn't bad at all for a project from the bench. He competes hard. Dragic I hope they can move. So many guards or players linked to the Raps are officially/unofficially off the market today. I have no clue where the Raps go, but I'm thinking it suddenly becomes a rebuilding year instead of an off-season retool and reload as planned until today. Doesn't seem like much out there left suddenly.

Thanks for everything KLow. The Heat got a gem. Really is the end of an era.

Ouch. As much as I liked Trent compared to Powell, that really ties up a lot of money.

Achuiwa and Dragic confirmed... I don't know too much about Precious. I didn't mind Dragic when i was watching the heat in the finals, but didn't watch him at all last year...
Going to be a little weird not to have Kyle leading the Raptors though... I hope he gets one more shot at a championship before his career is over though

Definitely it seems like there's more moves here that haven't been announced yet, including the potential of Dragic to Dallas. Another interesting development is that the Holmes signing for the Kings is only possible if they make additional cap-clearing moves, of which the obvious one is Bagley. Bagley's near the top of my list of young Cs I thought the Raptors should go after so right now my fingers are crossed that the Raptors have a deal to pick him up... although I haven't been able to think up a deal that leverages it as an extension of the Lowry trade.
edit: seems like the original reporting on the amount of Holmes' deal was incorrect and they're using their early-bird rights rather than cap space to sign him.

Lakers are trying to build the oldest team in NBA history it seems. Melo (37), Ariza (36), Howard (35), Ellington (33), Bazemore (32) ...

Melo can shoot and they missed Howard defensively last year.
Still wish we could’ve seen DeRozan/Lowry/LeBron - that would’ve been sick.
