Can't wait for Bennett to score a couple goals and we can continue to cycle through everyone thinking he has finally arrived and should start in the top six next season.
Don’t worry, if he scores a couple goals they’ll either bury him farther on the fourth line or scratch him as per usual.
With today's announcement of a maximum of 50 people per team being allowed in each hub, including all staff, I wonder what the plan is for reserve players/Black Aces?
If you assume there will be about 15 non-players between the coaches, equipment staff, and trainers/therapists, that leaves the door open for about 35 player spots.
If they carry one or two extra goalies, I wonder who they'll choose between Gillies, Zag, and Parsons?

It'll be Gillies and Zagidulin for sure if you ask me.
I imagine the guys brought up from the A will include Czarnik, Gawdin, Philp, Phillips, Pospisil, Ruzicka, Robinson, Froese, and Yelesin.

It's official: the Calgary Flames will be playing the Winnipeg Jets in the first round of the playoffs whenever the season resumes and the playoffs begin. It's the first all-Canadian playoff matchup since Calgary/Vancouver in 2015 and it's the first time these two franchises have met in the playoffs.
Let's discuss the merits of this matchup. Who will take it? What will it look like? Who has the edge on paper?
Yes, perhaps I am being pedantic, but can we refrain from calling the play-in round the "first round of the playoffs"? It's not. It's a qualifier. The Stanley Cup playoffs don't start until these games are finished.

I'd say Zag is the best of those goalies at the moment.
Well, this is ####ing stupid, but... yay hockey I guess?
My concern here is that while their blue line is hot garbage, the Jets clearly have the better goalie, and more high-end goal scorers in their lineup. I don't love the matchup, in other words. But it seems likely that it'll be a 5 game series in any event so it's not like I'd be surprised with either result.
Yay hockey! BOO format.

I think another poster said it best, this should come down to coaching. 2 months to watch video and come up with an exact game plan to beat one team. Or at least finally fix our Powerplay.
I take it this also means we have “Home Ice Advantage” so also last change 3 of 5 games.

He could be over 300lbs right now, haven’t seen a recent picture of him since the season ended.
Flames deleted all their old vids from the website a few years back. For a long time the one they had for the Jets first game back to the Dome to the “Welcome back Kotter” theme song was great.
I’ve said this already, but this matchup frightens me because the Jets have the advantage in goal and at forward. This is the nightmare scenario: the Flames actually play really well as a team and generate many chances but cannot beat Hellebuyck. Meanwhile, the Jets’ game breakers manage to capitalize on fewer chances. The Flames end up losing a series ppl say they should have won based on the metrics.

With no scrums, no fights, I am curious about what playoff hockey even looks like.
This leaves the game to be full policed by the refs, which has always been problematic. Does that mean it'll be easier to basically make gaudreau and monahan non-factors after playing them extra physical, which often makes them both disappear?
Or are teams left playing more by the book, in which high end skill is the true differentiator, making gaudreau a possible playoff game breaker??
It feels like just really poor timing to have brought in lucic. With no scrums of fighting, it feels like it speaks to the flames lack of actual forward talent depth if he's a guaranteed spot of the 12 forwards.
