I disagree.

Shift Backlund to wing, Bennett to centre. Playing Bennett at anything but centre is a failure on Hartley's behalf. It's short sighted.

Monahan wasn't ready to play hard minutes at centre as a first year, should he have played on Stajan's wing?

The only way the Flames lose tonight is if there's a Cap who needs his first NHL goal (or 2).

Or, a player who is sitting at 899 career points.

I think Ferraro was trying to say handling it so poorly for long enough that any hope of a nice transition is nullified.

Same for me. My hope is that when Brodie is healthy Kulak plays with Hamilton, Engelland is benched, and Smid is launched into the sun.

Sounds about right for Engelland. But with him he can have all the time in the world and he still won't make a clean breakout pass. He can make 1 play, the pass to his d-partner.

Why are you comparing Monahan's situation to Bennett? We were starved at centre when Monahan joined the team. Him being sheltered on the 3rd line was best for development.

Now the Flames have 3 good options at Centre not including Bennett. We do however have a staggering need for a 2nd line LWer who can play offense. That's why Bennett is playing on the wing right now.

It worked well for players like Galchenyuk and Mackinnon, so I'm not sure why you are so against it with Bennett.

There's enough other things going wrong with this team. Bennett playing top-6 minutes on LW should be the least of your worries.

And hey, even if Bennett never transitions back to centre, we have other centers to take his place. This team is absolutely stacked with them and Bennett becomes yet another versatile piece of the Flames core.

Honestly, Bob can put Bennett anywhere he wants to at the moment.

In fact, he can put anyone anywhere at the moment, as long as it results in the team winning.

I'm so upset at the results so far that I'd be willing to see Smid on the top line as long as it resulted in a win.

Despite the fact that anything I do has absolutely no bearing on how the Flames play, I am sitting Ferland on my fantasy team tonight which almost guarantees that he will have a great game, score 1+2 and have a fight for 10 mins of penalties, leading us to a win.

If the Flames showed even half of your willingness to sacrifice for the team, they'd be undefeated right now.

Yup it did this for me for like 2-3 weeks (only when on 3G, not wifi)
and now it isn't doing it anymore.

This is a true statement. We need to get back to winning. That is the absolute priority right now.

After going 1-4 you need to shake up the lines.

I think Bennett, Ferland and Colborne make a huge difference tonight. All 3 were nearing consistent contributions. Colborne's puck control in the corners will be huge.
