It’ll be interesting how they wrap this series up. I wonder if a cure or vaccine will be developed, or not.

I'll be pissed if Zombies get a vaccine before we do!

Since their is a sequel series, I suspect they just nuke all the characters in lame deaths, then have Daryl and Carrol F off outa there. They'll leave a few deaths as ambiguous so they can cameo later.

Probably Darryl and Carol leaves base camp and goes on to go find Rick + Michonne (also tie into the movies). I'm assuming they'll probably keep Judith and RJ alive so they'll probably tag along.

If they come up with a vaccine/cure, that'll end their ability to have post-series spinoffs and movies.

Carol, seriously, ####ing Carol.
That is who you want to build a spin off around.
I would vote Eugene before Carol, yuck I am so done with that character

I dunno. Easily one of the most badass, yet vulnerable characters I can remember (in this genre of pulp ficitonesque drama). There's a lot to explore if they can manage it well.
"Look at the flowers"
That's one of the most haunting moments in television history as far as I'm concerned.
I actually worry more about a Darryl spinoff because without a sounding board, he's a pretty monotone character. Fun and cool, yes, but not that interesting to build a narrative around.

Darryl and Carol are both played out. There is nowhere else interesting for their characters to go, which is why they haven't gone anywhere interesting with them in several seasons.

Good luck on the spinoff series but I think TWD universe has kind of run its course. I don't see an appetite for a spinoff show involving by far the most annoying character (Carol) in the show. Props to you warriors that are going to see TWD to the end.

The main spin off is with both Carol and Darryl together. The other spinoff is apparently WD Stories.

Yuck to each his own.
I can't stand her, and "look at the flowers" yeah didn't do anything for me.
TWD has become my Lost, I need to see it out to the end knowing that the ending won't be worth the effort.

We might be watching different shows.
Carol as sketched out is an interesting character out but neither the writing nor the acting can flesh her out beyond a soap opera level caricature IMO. I don’t disagree on Darryl, as a foil to Rick he was quite interesting and now he is one note playing over and over.

Daryl and Eugene really have no connection to each other though other than being in the same group. There's been more than one point in the series where people have thought Daryl and Carol were going to get together.

I think I agree with you about Carol. She used to be much more interesting but ever since she started the relationship with Ezekiel she just seemed so bland. I'm hoping that a better writing team can revive her character, because she used to be very interesting. Daryl as well, but then when they focus so much on him he doesn't have much to say or add to things.
It could simply be a product of them fully completing their character arcs and there's little more that can change with them that would seem realistic. At some point all stories come to an end. I think we see that in the Walking Dead universe but they drag out the story past its natural ending point and it becomes painful to watch. Tighter writing and a commitment to ending storylines within a particular time frame would go a long way to improving a show that has developed a pretty cool universe to play around in.
I'm very lukewarm on any continuing episodes or these spinoff ideas, so don't get the wrong idea. However, it's still more fun that most shows, so I can tolerate a little bit of crap in with the good stuff that still happens now and then.

I think a zombie apocalypse odd couple vibe could be fun.

It felt a bit like the FTWD writers took over at the start of the episode. So much smuck. It's crazy that they can't even go half an episode without a big group of mysterious enemies. But I guess they need a cliffhanger.
Was anyone else really hoping for Carol to just keep on walkin'?

Yes. May watch the next episode but wasn't overly sold.
Expands on the mysterious characters from FTWD so I guess those shows are going to cross over at some point.
