WALL OF LINKS REMOVED
That's a lot of links that don't say anything about New Orleans sinking. Here, I can show you are wrong with just one.

While there are four causes of sea level rise in Louisiana, land sinkage is the main contributor.

New Orleans sinking is relevant. New Oreleans sinking is a problem, but not related to the discussion at hand. Rising sea levels caused by climate change and cities affected by the change is the issue at hand. It also is directly impacting the viability of the city of New Orleans. That is exactly what all of those links said. You suggested the problem with New Orleans was it was sinking and unaffected by changing sea levels. The rising level of the gulf and its encroachment on the delta is a huge problem, one all levels of government recognize, and it is directly linked to climate change.

21 degrees in Alert, Nunavut today. Warmer than Victoria BC. Ben like that for two days. This is troubling.

Seems a little alarmist. A couple days hovering around its old record then dropping back to average temps?

I love when the weather gets up to over 20 degrees in Alert, especially multiple days. It allows me to go swimming on the beautiful beaches of Canada's most northern point, and the ground is buttery soft beneath my feet as the permafrost turns into a spongy trampoline! True vacation

It's been a very cold 2019 for Calgary. This is troubling.

Didn't you get the memo? Record cold temperatures when they happen are just weather and not at all indicative of overall climate. On the other hand record hot temperatures are clearly another sign post towards impending climate doom!

With the way the media reports everything in 2019, it is pretty easy to take a couple bad weather events and have everyone up in arms over them without having ANYONE look at the overall picture.

I admit even I often read about a weather event and instantly think about climate change and how the world is changing, but lately I've been reading more about the trends and its tough to say 'oh we have more tornados' because of climate change because that really isn't the case.

Read back through the thread. Some were posted. I am not specifically talking about tornados either, just using them as an example.

That's the thing, there are some trends, like the arctic getting warmer. But there are also lots of not-trends, and I wish the media would do some research before assigning every single weather event to climate change.

The US is by far the country that experiences the most tornadoes in the world. Here's its records from NOAA:

https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/climate-in...atology/trends

These graphs end in 2014, but 2015, 2016 and 2018 were very quiet years, while 2017 was an average year.
