Perhaps - Another possibility is zero Grey Cups in the last 3 years.

Stamps to name Brent Monson as new DC: http://3downnation.com/2018/12/13/st...e-coordinator/

Monson was previously the teams linebackers coach, which would have included Alex Singleton and Jamar Wall.

So am I reading this email from the Stampeders right? Apparently unless I renew for two years up front I don’t get guaranteed access to my season seats for the Grey Cup? I’ve been a season ticket holder for a ####ing decade. If this true, this is the last straw for me.

It appears that is the case:

The Stamps can go #### themselves. I’m done. I can see making that requirement for new season ticket holders looking for Grey Cup tickets but for existing ones, what a ####ing joke.

It's not uncommon for other teams to require anyone to buy season tickets for the next season for Cup tickets.

But 2 seasons? That's kind of obnoxious.

You only have to buy one season for Grey Cup tickets but you have to buy two to ensure you get to sit in your normal seat for the game.

So how does that work? Apparently the CFL does all of the tickets and pricing for the Grey Cup -- if you have good seats will they just hold them back and let you pick (with "priority" access) from whatever is left?

My seats are dirt cheap because they are in the family section -- I'm 50/50 on whether I'm going to buy them for the Grey Cup because they could be as much if not more than what I currently pay for the whole season.

Claybrooks/Hervey cleaning house in BC; Jackson returns as OC and former Stampeder Markus Howell as receiver's coach but the rest will not be back:

Quote:
Defensive coordinator Mark Washington, special teams coordinator Jeff Reinebold, offensive line coach Dan Dorazio, linebackers coach Chris Tormey, defensive line coach Randy Melvin, assistant defensive backs coach Stanley Franks and running backs coach Mike Lionello will not be offered contracts for the 2019 season.

ʺOn behalf of the BC Lions Football Club, I offer my sincere thanks to each of these gentlemen for their time and dedicated service to our team,ʺ said GM Ed Hervey. ʺWe’re grateful for their hard work and we wish them the very best in the future.ʺ

The Lions also announced that offensive coordinator Jarious Jackson will return in 2019 and receivers coach Markus Howell has also agreed to terms on a contract. Additional members of the 2019 coaching staff will be announced in the days ahead.

I can't fully recall, but I think they did this in 2009 as well.

If you're a decade long season ticket holder then do you envision yourself being a season ticket holder for 2 more years?

If you're in doubt then I would understand not being happy, but if not it's not such a bad deal. You commit for an extra season that you would likely be going to anyway, get your own seats for the 2019 Grey Cup and then get the 2020 season at 2019 prices. Nothing wrong with that.

I don’t remember having to commit to two years back in 2009 and I definitely
Got my seats for the Grey Cup.

I am 100% in doubt. My tickets have almost doubled in price over the past 6-7 years, stadium keeps getting crappier, reffing is an abomination, and the worst part is that I can’t even give my tickets away to the few games I miss.

I can go to any Stampeder game I choose on the secondary market for the same cost or even less than i pay pay as a season ticket holder. The only perk of being a Stamps season ticket holder is the Grey Cup when you team hosts.

^^ Where are your seats? I don’t think there’s a huge secondary market for Stamps tickets but I’ve never not been able to sell my extras on kijiji. The Stamps also upgraded their ticket exchange program so you can exchange any unused ticket to a past or future game (iirc).

It’s not that meaningful but I would imagine the situation is much worse for NFL season ticket holders when their city hosts a Super Bowl.

Do you have to pay for 2 seasons at once? If not, what would stop you from renewing and then cancelling the 2020 season after the Grey Cup next year? Are they going to sue you?
