Thanks for these. There isn't much to look forward to hockey wise during the summer except for the odd rape investigation and player sighting in the area but these were always good to read over and get info and perspective on our prospects.

Can't wait to see how we collectively rated these guys compared to how they'll do in the future.

Just a quick glance has Hickey as the biggest riser moving up 16 spots from last year. No surprise. Ferland with an honourable mention moving up 11 spots. Ferland likely a graduate this year.

Is Sieloff the biggest slider (dropping 12)? That makes sense as well given that he missed a key development year. Big year for him coming up.

Of particular interest to me are the players who had decent years, showed pretty good progress, but actually dropped in the rankings. Granlund (dropping 3 spots) is the poster-boy for this group, but it also includes Klimchuk (also dropping 3 spots) who had a great 14/15 campaign and Wotherspoon (dropping 4 spots) who took a nice step.

3 new-to-the-organization players cracking the top 15 (Kylington, Andersson, and Morrison), is nice to see given that the team traded traded away its first and two second-round picks. All defence men as well which is obviously an area where we needed to add some higher end depth.

Thanks for running these polls again, Bingo! Definitely a highlight of CP during the off-season.

^I don't think you can say Wotherspoon took a nice step this year. I would say this year was a step back for him. Not one that he can't recover from, but a drop in the ranking would be aligned to an overall unimpressive year.

Strongly disagree.

If you look only at the fact that Hartley wasn't dressing him, then sure. But let's look at Adirondack...

Not only anchored the defense, but improved his offensive numbers (which they wanted him to do) from 0.19 PPG to 0.39 PPG. Pretty significant improvement.

Some fans are making way too much out of his lack of playing time in Calgary and are ignoring his work in Adirondack.

You're likely right on Wotherspoon - my bad. Played only one NHL game this year compared to 14 the year before. I thought I heard his Abbotsford role was top pairing and that he was doing a lot of the heavy lifting, but I might be wrong there too.

Interesting that most rounds couldn't come close to a consensus. I would imagine that most people's personal lists would vary from this .

I'm not basing my commentary on just his time, or lack thereof, in Calgary, but also from comments made by those in the organization. Those suggest he had a very up and down season in the AHL

I think they're just challenging him, trying to push him to the next level.

His season in the A was solid.

You could almost look at a prospect pool in the same way Burke/Treliving have been talking about "ledges" at the draft.

For these rankings, while there was little consensus within any given round, I suspect ranking preferences for any given player for most people were usually 1-2 spots up or down from where the player actually went. For sure there were a few posters "voting player x for the 9th straight time", and I had a player or two I voted for 4-5 times before they went, but even then the players going were usually "next on my list" and part of the same ledge.

I'd have a ledge after round 1, 5, 9, 13, and 22.

Which comments? I was under the impression he was very solid in Adirondack

I'd like to see that poll too. Take the guys who finished 20+ (leave off the ones who'll be returning to junior/college/Europe) and run a poll on who people think has the best chance of being this year's "Jooris".

If you exclude all those others, there's only 7 guys left in the 20+ ranking...

I'd say either Carroll or Kanzig. I think Carroll fills a need (especially if a trade is made) and although our D is pretty set, for some reason I think Kanzig will make the strides needed to become a full time NHL'er. I think Kanzig will do what it takes for at least a call up and I think his physical presence will keep him here when he gets here.

They're both still so raw though. Both are coming from junior and have big holes in their games.

I know but that's just who I feel from that list would make it. I don't think they've got a chance to make it out of camp but part way through the year they may impress so much that they're gong to be the first call ups in their position. I just like those 2 guys.
