Default Online photo storage

I was using Photo Bucket and need a recommendation for a site to store 100-150 photos. I figure I can get that many for free with normal resolution. Is PB still a go-to site?

For that small an amount you could use a free dropbox account too.

  • Google Drive
  • Google Photos (my favourite)
  • OneDrive
  • Dropbox (they have a gallery tool for photo storage)
  • Amazon Prime Photos (free if you're an Amazon Prime member)

Google Photos all the way. Unlimited "high quality" photos which are good enough for regular prints.

That or Amazon Prime Photos if you already have Prime.

I use a combo of Google Photos and Smugmug. Google photo is more for my own viewings (and my pixel has unlimited storage there) and Smugmug is for my website to share pictures/galleries with everyone.

Smugmug is $50 for the power user category. Offers unlimited storage of pictures (no raw support though, there's a max resolution but it's pretty high, only run into problems with large panoramic shots) and video (up to 2 gig in size i think).

If you have your own website, you could install and run your own gallery software for a lot cheaper.

Probably, but I'm too lazy to set it up. $50 for unlimited photo storage backup (currently have 125,000 files, 1TB stored there) and easy gallery templates and sharing is worth it for me. Use it as an offsite backup also.

For comparison, 1TB of storage with Google is $120/year

*EDIT* Didn't see in the original post that only 100-150 photos was needed to be stored. Smugmug wouldn't be worth it for that. I'd go with Google Photos.

Google Photos all the way. Super convenient, backs up all your photos to the cloud, excellent search. Don't know why anyone wouldn't use it.

+1 for SmugMug. I use it too, very happy. A good layout, nice templates. Lazy like Choy and with power user you can sell your prints to offset the small cost.

I use a WDMyCloud drive. I can customize the permissions to allow albums to be visible via public or password protected and can access the drive remotely.
