LOS ANGELES -- If not for the prejudice of the times, Monte Halperin, the Jewish butcher's kid from Winnipeg's north end, might have entered medical school and Monty Hall would never have been born.

Hall, the engaging, smooth-talking host of "Let's Make a Deal" for 23 years on all three U.S. broadcast TV networks died Saturday, he was 96.

But in 2002, around the time he was being named to the Order of Manitoba, he recalled that it had been his dream to become a doctor, not an actor.

So if you have 3 closed caskets one of which Monty Hall is in and the funeral director knows which casket he's in. And you pick a Casket, then the funeral director opens an empty casket that you did not pick and gives you the option of switching caskets to the other unopened one

What is the optimal strategy if you want to find Monty's body

Switch caskets, always switch caskets.

May he rest in piece, you know, once they show which casket he's in.

Monty Hall was a great guy. Monty was friends with family I stayed with for a summer and was their neighbour. I believe they were both involved in some major charities. Monty was great whenever fans said hello, which was actually really frequent the few times we all went out. We went to a disney type place once and it was slow going anywhere from random fans coming up.

I just looked up his wiki, he had a good life.
