Like how the Flames played tonight again for the most part. D was a bit more sloppy this game than last game, but I wouldn't call it a sloppy game. They just looked a bit tired, and the Habs were pressing.
Rittich did a great job tonight and made big saves when he had to. I have no doubt in my mind that he has at least solid backup potential. He reminds me of Kipper with how cool he is.
Not surprising Hathaway scored tonight - I think he was the most tenacious Flame out there.
Good game by the Flames.

It may be premature of course but there's a feeling that this season has had a critical turnaround. Those terribly disappointing losses followed up by two really, really solid road games. Perhaps they are actually finding their footing now.

Did the bench get shortened?
I don't seem to recall seeing much of Stajan or Lazar in the latter part of the 3rd.

flames have looked better defensively in the last 2 games than they have all season. One can only hope that horrid last homestand was a season changing moment for this group.
Hope this is a fresh start for this group. Big 4 point game against the canucks on saturday, let's keep it rolling.

Two great road games. If we’d’ve played half this good against the (c)oil & Flyers, we’d’ve won both.
Also: no more Brouwer on PP. Backlund in Versteeg’s old spot, please.

I just assumed that we wouldn't, got distracted for a few minutes and had to do a double take when I saw that it was 2-2.

Rittich is great, whoever found this guy in Europe deserves a raise. Certainly NHL ready and doesn't seem to need a heavy workload to perform well ... still a small sample size, but looks like he has everything you'd want in a backup. Sorry Eddie.

The whole D corps looked just fine tonight. Rittich is a quality backup IMO. First goal for Hathaway was deserved.
Post by Monahan, a couple great chances for Ferland, the score could have been different.

Journalists already have their ready-made article "Monahan wins it in OT" set up as soon as the flames go to OT
