History tends to be written from the viewpoint of whoever ended up being the victor.

It really depended upon the event. I went to a few music festivals out in Roskilde, and found a demonstrable difference.
I also attended a few nights where all the city's public buildings, and churches were open all night. It was a privilege to be able to enter in, and explore some of the most gorgeous buildings built in Christendom. I heard a 600 year old pipe organ played in Christian's Kirke. I was the youngest person in the Church by probably 25 years.
A great deal of the rest of the population under 25 took opportunity of the time to drink Carlsberg, and chuck their empties into the many gorgeous fountains in the city centre.
I was repulsed by the barbarism.
So you are saying the people causing issues were the drunks, not the stoners....quite the argument!

I've been pretty clear and consistent that alcohol should be severely restricted although it holds such a strong cultural position in Western society that it could never be eradicated.
Peter let me list off a few industries and please let me know when I've hit the one you work in.
Police force? (Probably not because only cops in America care about weed)
Prison? (Probably not in Canada because again cops don't care about weed)
Alcohol or Tobacco?
Pharmaceuticals?
Those are the top lobbyists for keeping Marijuana illegal. The same industries that are widely accepted by society as the 'bad' guys.
If you are in none of those industries I can only assume you have much hate for Trudeau and his amazing hair.

For the record, I am not a teetotaler.
Eradicated, no. Imagine if 100 years from now alcohol and tobacco was completely replaced by marijuana.
Society would be a much less violent place and we'd all live much longer lives.

Would we?
That's a pretty firm position to take without having access to a time machine.
How would society be a less violent place if the link to mental illness manifestation and marijuana is proven accurate?

I know two guys that work in max prisons. Funny thing is, they smoke weed.
I also know 2 cops that smoke weed daily. As my post stated, the law enforcement industry in Canada has a much different stance. I think they'd rather it was legal so they didn't have to pretend to deal with it.

I'd recommend a deletion of that identifier. You narrowed the field of anonymity significantly when you mentioned relation.

It's really weird to me when people think weed should be illegal. Like they support sending people who smoke a joint going to prison and having a criminal record. That's a special kind of fataed up.

Wow peter really scared you with that article hey? This mental illness you speak of only occurs in adolescence who SHOULD NOT be smoking. With it legalized we can spread the facts about smoking and any 12 year old with sense will wait until they are an adult rather then #### up their developing brain.
If this was a major concern it would of been used by these massive industries as evidence to keep it illegal. The more studies we see, the more accepting we become.
Alcohol and Cigarettes are bad for your body. Alcohol is bad for your body AND your mind. Alcohol is responsible for something like 25% of all criminal conduct (domestic violence, bar fights, etc). Cigarettes are the cause of MANY types of cancer.
I don't think it takes a time machine... Just a semi to full functioning brain.
