On pace for 89 points. I get a feeling he’ll pass his career high of 45 this season.

Fricken Zebulon. Another perfect shot on his goal. Incredible release on that.
Career high in goals and points half way through the season. Incredible! What a get!

Shots like that are what I watch hockey for (a good part at least).
Maybe that's why I hated Laine becoming a Jet because the Flames decided to win one game at the end of that season. I love watching snipes like that, where the player takes a few seconds to release it, but it's so perfectly placed that it finds a hole anyway.

The overhead view shows the accuracy. The little delay and changing of the angle was some pretty elite shooting skill.

funny looking back at the trade thread and how upset people were with this deal.
Depending on what Fox turns into, Carolina can still 'win' the trade, but Calgary is a completely different team with Lindholm and Hanafin...
I think this is one of those trades that is at worst win/win, but if Fox doesn't sign or if Ferly leaves as a UFA, i think Calgary wins this hands down

I don't really think that there is anything that could realistically happen for Carolina to "win" this trade.

Dougie is arguably not better than Hanifin right now, so I shudder to think how much better Hanifin will be when he's 24.
Ferland has never been a better player than Lindholm a day in his life.
If, and it's a big if, Fox hits, then this is trade is less of a Hall of Fame skinning and more of a straight loss for Carolina.

Seems like Ferland has hit his annual cold snap too.
Really liked him but damn Lindholm has blown me away with his shot.

Flames could trade for him right now and save Giordano's tire fire of a season! For shame Bradley Treliving, what were you thinking!!!

I can’t get over the fact the flames have signed him for 4.85 for the next 5 seasons after this one. Brad must be pinching himself
This is how long term success is achieved

The fact that Johnny sees Lindholm as being the best addition to their line in the last four years, and looking at the production now of Calgary's top line - really drives home the success of this.

Is this where Dellow comes out with another selective stats piece to show Dougie is actually crushing it without Gio?

This trade has singlehandedly turned around this franchise, the likes which haven't been seen in decades. A true franchise altering trade that the Flames actually come out on the right side for once. From outside the playoffs, to 2nd overall in the standings and still trending upwards. The shakeup this team needed has directly resulted from this trade. I don't think you'll find a single Flames' fan who can stay with a straight face that the team would be in the same position they are in now, if they had kept Hamilton, Ferland, and still have Fox as a prospect.
Outside of Fox becoming the next Nik Lidstrom/Bobby Orr who can carry his team to contender/championship status year in and year out, there's no way he swings the trade to the 'Canes favor even if he signs and becomes a good D. The Flames' window is now while Gio is still playing elite, not a couple years down the road when Fox breaks in as a rookie and likely takes a couple seasons before he's an impact player (if that even happens).
