Default QC get the mallards back but prices higher than flames...

HA I am so glad I'm moving so I dont have to watch this IHL crap but fans bitched and moaned about ticket prices when the flames were here and now they are more exspensive than the flames were.

Good lord.

http://www.myqcmallards.com/tickets/seasontickets/

I'm so happy that I was a flames fan before all this crap but good lord my season tickets from last year doubled.

I paid 1000 for two seats right on the glass in 111 and now they are 900 for one seat.

All this to watch never to be's

Oh man "Quack to the Future" is their slogan. That's kind of crazy, they couldn't fill the house with an AHL team and now they are charging double for an IHL team?

HAHA

They dont have a coach (scotty allen is rumored to be the head guy)

and no players yet so this looks like a stellar year.

I dont get this what so ever. If they end up getting better crowds with UHL dba IHL v 2.0 with higher ticket prices then this place is dead to me.

I still cant belive that my old tickets doubled.

But they're named the Mallards ... so the cost is worth it.

Walk up prices are cheap though. While pissing off the people who fought to keep hockey here seems like a strange idea, the last several years have shown that season ticket holders alone aren't enough to sustain hockey here. They need to get the casual fan back, and $5 walk up tickets with free parking might be the way.

$950 for single A hockey?

LMAO! By comparison, my FLAMES season ticket was $1001. 300 level, but still, it's the NHL. Even the Hitmen are half that for row one, glass seats.

At least the Mallards won. I mean the IHL is way better than these stupid Flames and the AHL garbage. Hence the higher price tag.

If you think I'm serious give your head a shake.

Yeah I paid 920 usd for two seats right on the glass to see the second best league in the world. I'm so glad I'm moving out of this hell hole.

Hockey problems or not, I would hardly call the Quad Cities a hell hole...

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, I suppose.

Nope, the entire main iWireless Center lot is free, at least according to the QCTimes article.

Well, it's not like there is any ill-will against the QC. I wish them lots of success with the new Mallards. The whole Flames thing just didn't work out. The timing was off, the team was in the wrong part of the development phase with the prospect pool and didn't put up the kind of success that they needed right away to make any impact but that is very hard for any incoming AHL team to do, to start winning immediately to win over new fans in a market with so many other sports and teams.

I've made my peace with the whole Mallards thing here. It is what it is. There just isn't a big enough base of ardent hockey fans in the QC's. The early Mallards glory days were lightning in a bottle, and the bandwagon jumpers fell by the wayside a long time ago.

On a note more relevant to this forum: With the move to the North division, I'm hoping the Heat will still be in Peoria and Rockford occasionally. I'll still be following them.
