Maybe this is why so many are surprised to find out the compass has them supporting the AP ...
There should have been questions like "to pay off provincial debt, what would you do?" or other real life scenarios. Nobody wants to talk about where cuts need to happen but reality is, they need to happen.
Add a 2% PST, tighter cap on service salary, public service job cuts, medical visitation fee, etc

AP by far.
UCP a distant 2nd, closely followed by LIB and NDP tied for 3rd.
FCP under 50%.

Medical visitation fee? Like charge people admission to see someone in the hospital?

Correct..
Ask any dr how many patients show up who don't really need to be there. In many cases, they are lonely seniors (which is a different problem of its own).
If you charged $10-$20 for treatment in a medical facility, I believe that you can now wipe out paid parking at medical facilities, free up time for those who truly need medical attention, generate some sort of income stream, and remain a 99.9999% public health care system. (low income can apply to have the fee reduced to $5 or something...just enough to make someone think twice about visiting for a conversation.

Totally agree. Their shadow budget basically holds the expense side at 2018 levels until 2022, meaning service cuts when population growth + inflation are taken into account. They have drastic jumps in "other revenue" and "other tax revenue" to make it work.
It all sounds good on paper but I am doubtful of their ability to execute.

Matched best with the Liberal and NDP on social scale, Alberta Party on economics.

My results are confusing. I’m a fascist and answered the questions all fascisty but it says I’m closer to being a Liberal than a Conservative.

I did the quiz and the most interesting thing to me is the amount of times I voted neutral. Many of these issues are either so inconsequential in the grand scheme of things that I have no opinion one way or the other, or the questions lack enough context to be able to answer them.

Based on polling numbers and the responses here, I’m pretty sure every AP supporter is active on CP.

The results surprised me also. I didn't think the FCP would be that high.

Derek is a really interesting guy to talk to. He clearly has a lot of passion for politics and his constituents. I respect that.
But I really, really, really, really, really wouldn't want him as Premier.

I also got Alberta Party, which was no surprise. Greg Clark is my MLA, so I’ve actualy voted for them before.
But some of the questions were kind of weird. Like the one about how many immigrants Alberta “should admit”. I answered “I don’t know,” because last time I checked you could come into Alberta pretty freely from other parts of Canada.
Why would I have a view about how the provincial government should handle an issue outside its jurisdiction?
I also struggle with statements like “industry should deal with climate change.” Of course it should. But that doesn’t mean that government has no role in that. Can’t it be both?
