Default NHL.com: Calgary has easiest remaining schedule

Based on average points percentage of remaining opponents.

Spoiler!

On paper this is true. However, it seems like Edmonton, Anaheim, Vancouver, and Dallas only show up to play the Flames and then go right back to sucking. So it's a little deceptive.

That, and with San Jose with an easy schedule as well, not sure what difference it makes.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Oilers have beat the Flames one time this season...1-0 with Backlund and Gio out and the Flames tired/Oilers rested.

Other two were lopsided Flames wins

The Wild with one of the most difficult remaining schedules... Seems likely that Colorado or Arizona will end up passing them for one of the wildcard spots.

Agreed. Honda center aside, Dallas (home or away) has been a big boogey man lately

We also have 15 games in the 31 days of March. Only twice do they have more than one day off between games. Might not be a hard schedule but it's certainly a busy one

of course, since every team in the west plays the same schedule, outside of themselves, that means Calgary got to 2nd overall playing one of the tougher schedules.

pretty incredible to think that Calgary is doing so well considering their goaltending has been a bit average since the new year.

This to me just highlights what an accomplishment it is to be 5 points up in the west after what means we’ve played the toughest schedule to date.

Looking forward to hearing TnT all month long at the Dome.

Hopefully the Flames can clinch the west with enough time to get some rest in for their top players and give some guys lower in the lineup and opportunity to get a bigger role in the final couple of games.

They don’t have to play against Tampa... or Calgary.

Some teams have to play against Calgary multiple times. Not easy.

One of the goal tenders was terrible the first half and Tampa has two more ROW.

Flames season has been ridiculous...they really aren't getting enough respect (might be a good thing)

This might be true in the middle of the season. But at the end, the toughest games are always against bubble teams. Points percentage means very little to me at this point

This is crunch time too for teams fighting to make the playoffs. There aren't really any easy games at this point, aside from teams like the Senators that are icing AHL quality lineups.

They gotta play every game the same way they have been though. It’s a deceptive remaining schedule

Maybe not exactly the same way they have been. There have been some lucky breaks in this winning streak that have masked otherwise questionable efforts.

Outside of the Sens game, I think they've been full marks for every win.

Some have been, in fact, closer than the Flames deserved (the Anaheim game and the NJ game for instance).
