I have also seen Florida as a good candidate. They have the assets to do it. They could definitely use the marketing factor that McDavid could bring. The oilers brass would know he’s not in a major market like NY or Philadelphia where his success would be thrown in their face more often. I don’t think trading for him would ultimately make the panthers better if they had to give up the major pieces it takes to get him. I’ve suggested in the past something like:
To Florida:
McDavid
To Edmonton:
Ekblad
Barkov
1st round pick
Alternatively, I could see the oilers try to dump Lucic in the trade... which would probably remove the 1st round pick going back their way.

I'd watch McDavid play for my local team. He'd need to take a pay cut but the heat and humidity would cure his 7 types of cold and general pastiness.

I see someone wasn’t around in the summer and during the preseason when once again the Golden Boys were anointed as the next best thing, ready to take the league by storm, and Flames fans would have to be ready for their time in the rear view mirror.
Every year we have to deal with the hype machine, the arrogant fanbase, and the media circle jerk, and every year the team collapses. It’s an endless fountain of hilarity to watch them fall flat like clockwork after all the yapping coming from one of the most incompetent sports franchises in modern history. They bring this on themselves.
