The Flames tried to mount a late comeback lead by Tousignant's short handed goal, but came up just short.

David Wolf with a pair of goals on the night.

Former Flames prospect Corban Knight also scored a pair of goals.

I'm trying to understand why Kulak is stuck in Huska's doghouse...?

I'm not sure I understand your comment. Kulak played 10 of 13 games in March and 1 of 2 in April. We have 11 defencemen and only 6 spots to play them. Many guys aren't getting regular ice time. Kulak actually has been in the lineup more regularly than most.

Huska has done nothing but praise him and his play. He had 3 PPA in March and a huge contributor on the PP. He's definitely not in the doghouse.

Corban Knight Interview (yes, I know he's not a Flames player, but he speaks about them)

Has Agostino turned a corner and become a point a game player in the AHL?

What has his game looked like over the past month or so?

With the top line players being up in Calgary, he's getting a better opportunity and it's taking advantage of it.

Ortio getting injured seems to have destroyed this team. What the GAA since he went down? I'm guessing a shade under 4.

Well that pretty much puts the lights out on playoffs. Too bad.

Main thing is that they are working towards sending some competent NHL players to CGY, and hopefully in time that will be the case.

Milwaukee gets a SOL tonight so the Flames are now 7 points back of a playoff spot.

Utica clinches the North, so the best we could finish is 2nd in the North Division. Although I doubt that comes as a shock to anyone, Utica has been untouchable for most of the year.

Adirondack Flames (32-28-6-2) vs San Antonio Rampage (Florida Panthers) (43-20-5-1)

Saturday April 4 @ 6:00pm

#2 - Brett Kulak
Kulak, a defenceman from Stoney Plain, AB, is a 4th round pick of the Flames (105 overall) in the 2012 Entry Draft and signed a 3 year ELC on March 18, 2014. Prior to playing in the AHL, Kulak was a member of the Vancouver Giants, twice playing all 72 games in the season and another only missing 3 games. A durable defenseman, Kulak also managed to amass 45G, 92A for a total of 137 points in 216 WHL regular season games. He also played in the 2012-13 Top Prospects game on Team Cherry, who was coached by Ryan Huska that year. Kulak made his pro debut in April 2013 after finishing his 2nd season with the Giants. He played 4 games with the Heat where he didn't register a point. He returned to the WHL in 2013-14 and at the conclusion of that season joined the Heat again where he appeared in 6 regular season games and 4 playoff games. Brett started the 2014-15 season with the Adirondack Flames before being sent down to the ECHL Colorado Eagles so that he could get regular ice time. After impressing in the ECHL with 30 points in 39 games and quarterbacking the powerplay, Kulak was recalled to Adirondack where he is on rotation with the other AHL rookie defenceman to earn a spot on the team. Kulak and his two older brothers grew up on a 14,000 acre grain farm in Stoney Plain and learned to skate on a frozen pond. He says he never went to an actual hockey school unlike many players, but he attended a few power skating classes. He grew up a fan of the Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings naming Nicklas Lidstrom and Duncan Keith as his favourite players.

Adirondack's problem is that they don't have many AHL veterans on the club. If you look at Utica, they have a bunch of older guys and they win because of it. With the current state of the farm team, I would much rather have the kids play though.
