No points for Backlund. He has been tasked with minding young phenom Elias Pettersson on his line for the tournament.

Bob Hartley had Latvia tied with the U.S late in the third.

USA-Latvia headed to OT.
Between this and Finland's loss yesterday, Canada's chances of winning their pool have greatly improved.

Latvia took a penalty early in the OT, giving the Americans a 4-on-3 PP.
Kane to Gaudreau to Atkinson and it's over.
Johnny maintains his point per game pace.

Who's the American backup with the Stars and Stripes pads? I don't think I've seen him play yet.

This tournament has taught me that Cam Atkinson is a really good player.

He's also a right-shooting RW on a team that has some concerns on their own blue line (beyond a great top pairing of Jones and Werenski).
Just sayin'.

I watched all of CBJ-WSH and was surprised how quick he is and how he creates chances. Top notch player, well worth his salary.

Roman Horak (?!) just missed on an open net to tie the game for Czechia. Russia scored on their first shot through an impossible screen.
