Ireland win the Six Nations with a game left to play. Bonus point win over Scotland meant England needed a bonus point win over France just to bring it down to the last game, but they lost. clinching Ireland the title.

Which means Ireland goes for the icing on the cake, the Grand Slam, against England at Twickenham, on St. Patrick's Day. What an atmosphere that will be.

Ireland won the Grand Slam.

Also, England lose.

What a day.

Congrats to the Irish. They are touring Australia in June, it should be a great series!

Sorry for no Sevens update this week I was too busy. Fiji won the Canadian Sevens with Kenya 2nd and South Africa 3rd. It was a horrible weekend for the hosts finishing 14th. In cool story news my parents are visiting and flew from Vancouver to Sydney on the same flight as the Aussie Sevens team. Supposedly they were all very beat up after playing on the fake grass at BC place.

In Super Rugby news my Reds are 3-1 and Brad Thorn is looking like a brilliant coach. They had some dramas though having to fly from Buenos Aires to Cape Town via London due to an issue with Yellow Fever vaccines. Only in Super Rugby.

I took my dad to his first ever rugby game last night watching the Rebels smash the Sharks. He really enjoyed it and was very impressed with the skill, speed, and physicality. The Rebels have a very good team and Will Genia is playing as well as ever, it's too bad no one in Melbourne cares about them.

Oh and I'm clearly Australia Rugby's good luck charm. I've been to 13 games here and never has the home team lost.

I guess you haven't been to a Wallabies-ABs game then?

You have guessed wrong. August 8, 2015: Wallabies 27 ABs 19. I've also seen the Reds beat the Saders twice.

Haha, that is a great exchange and I did not see that coming either! I'm jealous of how much great rugby you guys can get to see there in general.

The TSNGO App has Super Rugby on it, sadly it doesn't do screen mirroring.

The first rugby practice of the year.

It will be hard to run with a boner.

With the Chiefs win over the Reds tonight the NZ Super Rugby teams have now won 35 straight against the Australian teams. It was hoped only having 4 teams would help the Aussies but so far this season it still isn't even close.

Believe it or not I realised I was in attendance the last time an Australian team beat a NZ one in 2016 haha.

The losing streak is finally over after almost two years! The Waratahs beat the Highlanders becoming the first Aussie Super Rugby team to beat a NZ team in 40 games. They were helped by an early red card for a kick to the head.

Were you at the game and applying your voodoo magic? That was my first thought when I saw the result.

Believe it or not, no I wasn't!

I still think there was some magic at play as I was watching the game live about 10km away from the stadium. I usually watch the games recorded as I spend time with my wife on Saturday nights however on this night she had abandoned me to watch the royal wedding.

OMG I just saw the craziest thing watching the London Sevens. The Samoan player was about to score a try against Spain all alone under the posts. Instead of putting it down he decides to be unselfish and gives the ball a short toss to a teammate standing beside him who catches and grounds the ball. There is only one problem, it is a forward pass! No try! Hahaha.

This has to rank up there on the all time rugby bloopers.

In that same tournament, did you see the try Fiji scored against Canada to go up 38-7? Specifically that one pass they made, was just remarkable!

Yeah the Fijians are amazing and that entire game against Canada was total domination.

The story of the weekend though has to be the Irish. They are the 21st ranked team in the world, had failed to qualify for the 2018-19 series, and were only in the tournament by invitation, yet beat England for the bronze. Awesome.

It is an epic weekend for rugby with NZ vs France, Australia vs Ireland, SA vs England and the Paris Sevens. Go Wallabies!

Canada v. Scotland just kicked off and it’s bleak as expected. 3-0 pretty quick and that could have been 7-0 very easily.

The weekend lived up to the hype. The ABs and French were closer than the score showed with the game tied in the 2nd half before a horrible decision to give a yellow card without a review destroyed the French hopes. The Wallabies and Ireland was a close intense match with the Aussies ending the Ireland winning streak through great defence and clinical breakdowns. Finally the Boks England game was a close see sawing try fest with the South Africans coming out on top.

The Sevens was also excellent with Canada finishing 4th and South Africa winning the series on the last game. Overall Canada finished 9th which is a place lower than last year however is still a decent finish considering they were devastated by injuries and a top 10 place means they keep funding for next season (on a side note this is total crap by Rugby Canada).

Canada with embarrassing losses to Russia and the USA. Entire program is a joke, gutted by the Sevens program, and can only qualify for the World Cup in the repechage spot.

Glad I don’t pay RC dues anymore.
