The Sterling suspension is BS. The FA banned him for a game but allowed him to stay in training camp and play the 2nd game. Should have just send him home for the whole international break...

good on Southgate. Wouldn't have minded a harsher punishment though, Sterling got off lightly.

Lol. Got off lightly? They had a minor scuffle.
Two players got into it and he bans one for a game instead of dealing with it internally throwing him out to the media. And the story for the rest of their games is just that. Yeah, fantastic bit of management.

Danny Rose has warned Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy that he will not be sold against his wishes and that he will see out the rest of his contract at the club.
Left-back Rose has just over 18 months to run on his current deal and will give Levy another headache by joining the group of players willing to leave on free transfers.
Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweired and Jan Vertonghen are all coming up to the final six months of their contracts and 29-year-old Rose has vowed to follow suit.
It means that Levy faces the threat of losing four of Tottenham’s most influential players over the past five years for nothing.
“It’s pretty obvious what happened [in the summer],” said Rose. “People upstairs at Tottenham were trying to do what they were trying to do. I’ve said [to them] I've got 18 months left on my contract and I'm not going anywhere until my contract has #finished.
“In January, you're probably going to hear something [about my future]. I'm telling you right now that I'm not going anywhere until my contract is finished.

That's a lot of money being left on the table by netspend Levy that is going to restrict future purchases further.

Really the same goes for Toby and Eriksen. Toby had a release clause for a measly 25 million that no one was interested in paying (I think one offer was for 11 million?), so these guys just aren't as wanted as they think. And Eriksen only wanted to go to Barca or Madrid...neither of whom seemed particularly interested.
It's a problem because they're probably a large piece of the reason in that room at this point. But I just don't see an easy way out at this point. You can leave them to sit on the bench and basically hope that someone makes an offer in January that makes them decide to move, but otherwise what can be done?

All offset by the new stadium revenue, read that per nfl game they are clearing around 15m from their share
Nothing to see here
At least that's what I keep telling myself, fully realizing I am now the Iraqi defense minister meme

Times had a story yesterday about nagelsmann potentially being tapped up
I dont like it, hard to argue with the results, but dont like it
If they have someone lined up already that's only way this makes sense

So the betting odds are saying.....
Mourinho HEAVY favorite
Ancelotti clear 2nd favorite
Nagelsmann, howe, gerrard all between 10 and 16 to 1
Rodgers, allegri, hassunhuttl among those in the 30ish to 1 range
Of those top 5 I'd be very happy with 3 of them, intrigued by 1, and have serious fears with 1

I would laugh my ass off if Tottenham got Eddie Howe.
That guy should be managing a bigger club and others have passed him by.

holy cow. Never thought Levy would actually do it, financially that's going to sting for a while.

Yep, hes one of the ones I'd be super happy with
Love the way bournemouth play, hes developed some very good players and got almost everything he could out of others.
To me, if the board and levy are looking for the next poch as in, someone to build with, its him or nagelsmann
If they want to consolidate and probably finish top 4 this year but without long term planning for right now at least, its ancelotti
If they want to take a big chance, its gerrard

Yeah pretty much my sentiments. And now he's gonna lose half his team and a few of the remaining top guys will probably be looking for the exit door. This is gonna be a massive rebuild for someone.

Nagelsmann is simply not available. Leipzig have no need and no interest in letting him go.
Long-term, I think Howe would be a smart appointment. Have said it for a while, he deserves a chance at a bigger club ... leaving your comfort zone in the middle of the season and with a potentially massive rebuild looming is not ideal though.

I would basically agree with all of that.
If it were me I'd write this season off and start looking forward.
They've got no manager, they've got a glut of players that are effectively worthless, either because their play is poor and they're ageing or they just want out.
Either way I'd start looking forward and building for the next few seasons, unfortunately that could mean that more players are going to want out. Like Alli, Kane and Son who may not want to kick around for all that.
Either way though this all seems very out of character for Levy. A lot of this scenario has been engineered by his decisions.
