Now I assume Sportsnet gets its kneepads on for two hours like TSN does.

I guess you just hope that the team is still adjusting to a new system and a new coach, only having had a week to practice, and they start to pick it up soon.

LOL if you are basing your hopes on blaming Sutter you are going to be in for a big disappointment as tonights game had zero to do with Brent Sutter or his system.

Keep in mind folks, having 2 offensive guys injected into the top 6 could do this team a lot of good in the 'finishing' department. I personally think Backs/Bear will be best suited on the 3rd line anyways. But they were fantastic tonight nonetheless.. Sven maybe needs to work on that discipline a bit, but those are rookie mistakes.
The biggest problem of this team remains consistency. If they are going to be a 'hard working', pressure team with their playing style, it needs to be all the time. If there is any letting off, it just Cannot be as extreme as what was displayed in the 2nd.
Anyways...Home games, home games.... need to make hay, boys. Bounce back tomorrow.

Bad habits die hard. I guess the fans have some rust to shake off too.

As bad as things get on the Flames telecasts, at least we don't have to listen to that dumkoff.

Well the best part of today was watching what Backlund-Baertchi could be in a few years. That was awesome to see.
Brodie in tomorrow for Butler IMO...
I didn't think SJ brought their 'A' game, but we lost because on every single goal we were out numbered in front of our own net (and on I think it was 2 of Marleau's goals, he had all the time in the world all alone in front of the net)... it was like the Keenan era. You can't be outnumbered in the slot in your own zone, and because they were on all 3 goals, SJ got those 3 goals. Got to clean up those D mistakes if this team is going to win games this year.

On a more positive note, Mark Donelly looks fantastic. Good for him.

Better teams than the Flames have had much greater struggles out of the gate this season. Can't panic too much right now. I trust Hartley to make the proper adjustments throughout the first few games in order to fix our inconsistency problems.

Did you not understand? I never said anything about how they'll do, just that they'll weed out their old habits from Sutter. AKA, go from the boring system, to the entertaining system. I don't expect the team to be any better then last season standings wise.

That game was like my sex life. Hell of a start, then done before the other side is done playing, sad attempt to make things better but too late.

I thought Backlund looked really good tonight. Other than that, no big stand-outs good or bad. As has been mentioned, first was great, second was bad, third was okay. No reason to panic yet, but not quite the start we'd hoped for. Looking forward to seeing where Hudler steps in.
