I'm starting to think that Feaster should re-sign Lamb to another one year deal. He's looking pretty decent with the more time he's given.

For the sake of discussion for all those who think Troy Ward should be shown the door, who would you like to see him replaced with?

I'm only half sold on showing Ward the door but I wouldn't mind seeing Jim Montgomery of the Dubuque Fighting Saints get a chance if this happens. He has had some great success developing guys in his 3 seasons in Dubuque. Judging by his comments on Jankowski when he was slated to head to Dubuque he and Weisbrod have a similar line of thinking when it comes to prospects.

But that being said I don't know alot about coaches that would be looking to step up to the AHL level.

I don't think Ward is any problem at all (I think he is doing a good job actually), but if there was a move there, Jim Montgomery would be a wonderful pickup. However, he is also the GM in addition to being the head coach there, and I am not sure he would even want to leave. Does a guy with his track record go from the USHL into the AHL, or does he go straight into the NHL (even as an assistant coach)?

I think it'd be more about his personal comfort zone and specialization. Maybe Montgomery feels that his particular coaching style/skill set is better suited for 16, 17, and 18 year olds as opposed to 18+ year old in the NCAA or 20+ year olds in the AHL. Hard to say really.

I would hope they would get someone better than a USHL coach.

Abbotsford lost 5-3 to Hamilton last night. Abbotsford outshot Hamilton 45-22.

Danny Taylor pulled after the first for Barry Brust after allowing 3 goals on 10 shots.

Roman Horak, Ben Street and Max Reinhart all scored in the 3rd period.

Also of note, rookie defender Steve Seigo got an assist in his first pro game.

Any coach who will deploy the same system and coaching style as Hartley.

So who's getting recalled to take Iginla's roster spot?

Danny DeKeyser.

No seriously, you'd think it'd be Sven. God, it'd be nice to see Sven alongside Cammy and Tanguay.

If not Sven, maybe Horak. He's been playing on RW lately. Maybe Feaster will call this situation a wash and give Reinhart a try. Complete speculation on my part.

I would think Feaster would wait till tomorrow morning to see if on the off chance they win the DeKeyser sweepstakes, he can step in. Can they do that? Don't they have enough players to play tomorrow?

With Iginla gone, they have 12 healthy forwards.

I would call up Aliu, give him a chance to show if he deserves a new contract next year. I think Sven should stick in the AHL for the rest of the year.

Hasn't he already shown through his meh play in the AHL that he doesn't?

any chance that Coda Gordon joins the Heat, given that the Broncos were eliminated yesterday?

He is only 18 isn't he?

I thought it was usually for the 19/20 year olds to get them used to AHL for next season and to get a look to see if they want them for next year.

Since he is going back to junior anyways I would expect that he wouldn't go, but I have no idea on Abbotsford roster situation and whether they could use the body up front or are full already.

I think CHLers are allowed to sign ATOs with the team even if they are below 20.

Yeah, it's a pretty safe bet that Coda will join the Heat soon on an ATO.

Sieloff as well if he's cleared by Flames doctors.

Can't wait from him to sign a PTO to see Ward sit him for the next 3 weeks while the Heat miss the playoffs.
