Still don't see nylander as a special player... Sorry but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy you win playoff rounds with.
I would let someone else pick him up and overpay for him.

No kidding. The only D I'm willing to trade would be Stone, maybe Brodie. But I think Brodie let's Gio go do Gio things, so that's unlikely that I would want to tinker there I'd rather have a young stud dman then a young stud right winger, based on where this team is heading development/cap wise. And Nylander wants 8? I would rather give that to Tkachuck. Why would we do this?

I wonder if Michael Stone ever requests a trade.
He's in a tough spot.
He's played top 4 before, he's still a young guy and probably believes he can still play top 4. Yet he's been passed by 2 kids.
But, he's playing in his home town.
I don't want the Flames to trade him. You need that depth and experience. But you have to wonder if he is looking for an opportunity elsewhere.
Or maybe he lets the season play out and re visit his role in the offseason.
I kinda feel bad for the guy.

Stone is one injury away from playing regular minutes again.
Honestly, the flames can't move him, the rookies will hit the wall at some point, maybe not until later in the season but stone will be needed at some point.

Every deal seems to start with an asking price of top 4 d, top 6 forward, and a first.
Do any end that way?
The leafs will do well to get a defender equivalent to Nylander - in the mode of the Drouin and Johansen trades. Or perhaps someone less established and then one of a pick or a forward. Likely neither a top 6 or a first.

We also have Kylington waiting for his turn.
I think one of Andersson, Stone or Kylington are moved next summer.

Wife's home town, and where he played junior (and met her I presume). He's from Winnipeg.

There is one obvious choice in this group.
I'd be pissed if it was one of the other two.

McKenzie says Rutherford is open for business. The only untouchables are Crosby and Malkin.

Can the Flames get Matt Murray? Can they? Should they? His overall health is a bit of a red flag. But he fits the age core of this team perfectly.
If Jimmy's going for a re-tool and keeping their top two players. there's going to be some really good ones coming out west at the deadline.

If Rittich falters Matt Murray would be nice. Struggling this year but you know he will bounce back huge.
