Sub Duehr for Lewis and they might finally get the lines right.
Go Flames go.

Agreed. A similar feel to the Mangiapane-Kadri-Dube line from the start of the season.
I don't love Duehr coming out of the line up. He made a costly mistake but he also contributed a lot last game, I thought. But overall I am excited to see this group play. Hopefully we will see Ruzicka playing like his career is on the line because it just might be.

Seems awfully unfair to suggest if a young player learning the ropes can't carry Ritchie & Lewis that his career is in the dumper even though he looked so much better playing with top tier players.
I get that eventually that should be expected of him, but in year 2?

^ Nah. if Markstrom has a good night, gets the win, then Darryl will throw him on the bus, drive to Anaheim and throw him right back into the net. This is about as easy as travel gets.

Sure.
But I don't mind Duehr getting the ocassional game off to catch his breath, as he adjusts to the NHL. I expect that he'll be a full-timer next season.
Also, Lewis has a long history with the Kings, so I imagine he'll be well motivated for this one. He needs games too, and is deserving of ice-time

Why does Francis sport a Hartford Whalers logo for his Twitter? Very odd.

In his defense, which he probably doesn't deserve but what ever, it's a sweet retro logo and a franchise that got jobbed.

Scoring Winger
|
So I was going through the NHL stats site sorting data by position to compare LA and Flames D, then wingers, Centers and Goalie and I noticed that Huberdeau is listed as a center.
Thought it was a mistake so I checked last year where he set a new record for assists as a LW and they still have him as a center. Hmmm!
Ok I got side tracked. Sutter said last year that one ingredient required to make the po is for D to score 35-40 goals.
They are up to 35 so far.

I say it a bit tongue in cheek. I don't dislike Lewis as it seems a lot of others do..he's pretty much the same price as any rookie would be and he's a very experienced guy. So playing him between a couple of rookies is fine with me. Although could be more of a rotation.
But I do hope that they can abstain from signing a list of tenured vets and let a guy like Deuhr have a shot next year to get into 60 games if he earns it. But a guy like Lewis for one year at his price instead of a Rooney...I take that every day.

If we'd switched to permanent Standard Time then it really would be a beer league start time.

I like the lines for tonight. Thought Lucic might roll back in as LA is a tougher team.
Massive massive massive game. Win tonight and we’re looking pretty good.
I like that Backlund got promoted and Kadri bumped down. Kadri needs to start doing something.

If the season finished today and we compared it to last year these are some of the drop offs we are dealing with.
Huberdeau -16
Lindholm -22
Mangiapane -22
Kadri played 71 games and he is at 70 with a -7
That is 67 goals.
Something has gone terribly wrong this year when the production has taken a nose dive like that.
If those 4 can combine for 30 goals for the next 12 that would put as at 256 goals for and factor in other guys and suddenly the offence doesn't look so bad.
