Speed limit on The west ring road construction project along the TCH has been raised from 60 to 80 starting at COP. That makes me happy.

That’s great and means most people will only be speeding by 20kph now like they’ve been doing for months along a long straight 3-4 lane wide road that has not had construction activity for how long?

The grandboy had surgery today, a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy. He had very large tonsils, according to the surgeon that took them out, the largest they'd seen in a kid his age/size, in a long time. That caused a couple of minor complications, he had more bleeding than they like to see, so he was given an anti-coagulant and opioids. Because he's never had anaesthesia before, or opioids, he took longer than they were happy with to come around, but eventually, everything sorted itself all out. The surgeon said they could see evidence of hand, foot and mouth disease, but it's been months and months since he had that, so what I assume is meant is that maybe there was something like scarring? I hope this makes a huge difference for him, that kid had sleep apnea/sleep-disordered breathing something awful because of his tonsils/adenoids, so they needed to come out. He scared the hell out of us last weekend, when he came for a sleepover, when he woke up out of a deep sleep, choking and coughing. Scared him too, upset him for a while, but eventually he felt comforted enough to go back to sleep.

ACH is keeping him overnight, and they'll see how things go overnight, and decide whether he gets to go home tomorrow or needs to stay another day, according to his surgeon. They have him on humidified high flow nasal therapy for the time being.

If allowed, we may go visit him in the hospital, but I'm ok too, with just taking popsicles and ice cream and a new activity book over when he gets home, and having some cuddle on the couch and watch movies time.

Just really happy that it's done, he didn't have too many issues and that this should improve so much for him.

Just got back from watching Belfast obliterate Manchester 9-1 on a night when they raised the Challenge Cup banner. The place was rocking.

My lawyer called on Friday to let me know the "Land Title Transfer" paper on my late mothers home had come in. Later went to Western Financial and got some home insurance on her home.

That same day I got a letter from the Federal Govt telling they issued a clearance certificate on my late mothers taxes saying her estate owes no more money in taxes.

Lastly paid my lawyer his fees and closed her Will.

Congrats! I'm sure that's a big relief to have that done.

It's a job I don't want to ever do again. I learned a lot but it's not fun.

Make sure your parents have a Will. Inside the Will there should be beneficiaries for everything including money/investments and property etc. That helps to avoid any family drama or someone contesting the Will.

It's a lot of work but as my lawyer David Arnold said, you have a lot of time to get things done so don't try and rush it. For example the Will has to go through probate to see if anyone has any claims against the Estate and that takes 5-6 months. The land title transfer takes 20 business days or more to get done.

High school rugby season has started

While the sessions are in the gym (indoor rugby sucks) I absolutely love introducing people to The Sport Played in Heaven.

Seeing them start to put together some simple aspects of the game makes me super happy

Got to spend a half day yesterday and today, hanging with my little pal. He was finally released from the hospital on Tuesday around suppertime. My daughter-in-law is using up holiday time to be home with him (for his surgery & recovery times), but her work had something going on that they needed her in for a few hours and daycare won't take him because of the pneumonia/surgery recovery (obviously), so I went to look after him for a few hours.

Yesterday he still looked very unwell, very pale, sunken eyes, and not very energetic. Today was a huge improvement - he looked a bit uncomfortable this morning, so we gave him a half dose of Tylenol just to see if that helped any, and it did. By this afternoon, he was about 90% of the way back to his normal self - the sassiness and goofiness was front and centre, so he's improved, LOL.

Yesterday was just snuggles on the couch, reading stories, watching movies. Today was a walk with the wagon around the block, nicely bundled up and then he showed me how to play Minecraft. While he was sleeping, I got a chance to help my daughter-in-law out with some organizing and cleaning she's been wanting to get done - I figured I'd get it done (the plan was for me to come help anyway, at some point), they're all tired and recovering from the surgery ordeal and post-surgical issues - not much else I can do but I can do that. I well remember all the medical stress and exhaustion when my daughter was in and out of hospital so much and feeling too tired to even think about cleaning. Plus, my favorite thing to do is organize spaces, so it was fun for me.

I'm just so glad my pal is finally doing better and we can start enjoying spring and Easter.
