I've been able to stick to my workout routine for an entire month...and while I'm not really seeing physical results yet, I've been feeling MUCH better in general and the clothes are a touch looser than pre-Christmas.

My wife noticed how much I watch the birds coming and going in our backyard and thoughtfully bought me a bunch of bird feeder gear for my birthday. I hung one of the feeders outside my WFH office window so I can look up from my monitors and watch the birds. It's nicely relaxing.

The boy and I have committed to each other, 4 mornings a week to get up and work out at 6:30 am.

We haven't missed a day and today he mentioned it was getting easier.

Ya, it's all fun and games until the woodpeckers discover your feeder, then turn their attention to your house. rattatatatata! Ugh. I managed to put enough soap and vinegar solution in their favourite spot to force them to a new favourite spot. Which I then also treated...

After reaching my lowest ever recorded weight since HS back in the late summer/early fall, I quit nicotine (vaping) in Sept Nov and ballooned 26 lbs in a matter of weeks.

On Dec 2nd, I decided to get in shape and started doing Insanity again.

I'm now down 18lbs from my post nicotine eating binge, just about done the full 9 week schedule and have even thrown in some treadmill runs on my off days. Lowered my 6km time by almost 10 minutes since last summer.

I was thinking about that this morning. I was actually rushing through my coffee to get to my workout. I'd never, ever have thought that'd be my mindset, even 3 weeks ago.

Glad to hear you two are doing well!

I have a rest day once a week and I find myself getting ancy. Even on days when I rest, I have to get out and go for a walk. Same when I overeat a delicious meal. Even if I worked out earlier in the day, I have to get active to burn through it better.

It's weird cheering stuff like "i can see my ribs again" but that's where I'm at.

#### checked my post history, hit 184lbs on Sept 25. And start of Nov I quit vaping.

For some reason I thought you were taller, must be your hair.

In the before times I played hockey twice a week in the winter, and once a week in the summer.

I went for a skate last night on a backyard rink of a friends, first skate since end of February, 2020. Unbelievable feeling.

I finally saw a happy 'Calvin and Hobbes' Bumper Sticker on my way home.

It was the image of Calvin and Hobbes dancing rather than Calvin peeing on something.

Thats a refreshing change of pace.

today was absolutely stunning in kelowna - sunny and apparently +6... but it felt a ton warmer than that.

took some time to have a little 'truck-therapy' and gave my truck a wash. my neighbours were laughing at me... outside, in february, in shorts and a hoodie washing my truck! ha! ha! it's not perfect, but looks 1000x better than it did earlier today. we're supposed to get colder temps next week so it should stay fairly clean.

i don't know if your vehicles are like my truck... but it just seems to run better when it's clean... at least that's what i tell my wife!! ha! ha!

I'm sitting out on the deck enjoying the sunshine. Wearing shorts. I'm starting to warm up to this place.

But I'm not at all posting this just because it is -20C and blizzarding in Calgary right now. Given I'll be moving back, probably, at some point, nothing more annoying that people who rub it in all the time.

i wasn't trying to rub it in - had no clue it's that stinkin' cold in calgary right now - i check the kelowna forecast and that's about it. my main reason for washing my truck (other than wanting it clean) is that temps are supposed to drop a bunch here early next week so it should stay clean for a bit. nothing is worse than when it hovers right around freezing and you get all the slushy muck on the roads kicked up onto your vehicle.

Finally FINALLY got an offer on our townhouse, after listing for a third time and probably 30+ showings (and a string of bad luck this last time). Been a long ass road. Now hopefully everything goes through fine on the buyer’s end and we’re out of here before spring, can not wait to have some more space for these kids (and a yard for the summer!)

Surferguy will like this one too...

We have been having dance parties with my toddler daughter after bath time. We have a “quiet song” to end the party and get ready for bed. She always asks for the loon song, which is of course wheat kings by the tragically hip and my favorite song. Of course, we hardly brain washed her that it’s an awesome song...but still makes my heart grow three sizes when she asks for it.
