The family has decided to do this more seriously, so let me ask you experienced people... when would I buy season passes for next season?

Usually late spring early summer for most Alberta hills I believe.

I feel like this year hills drew out their deals for family passes, but I might be wrong.

Yeah this year was late due to Covid. Typically the early-early bird pass deadline is in late May/early June and the early bird pass deadline is late September/early October.

Just to add on as Fernie is a ski town....if you're planning on coming to go skiing I would take a hard look at those plans.

Covid has affected a lot of businesses. Mcdonalds, Timmy's, Boston Pizza, Yamagoya sushi, big bang bagels, on mountain dining and now one of the retail shops in town is either closed, on reduced hours or making covid adjustments due to lack of staff. There are rumours of a few others affected that are struggling to stay open that I won't name, but I believe it 110%.

Not sure why this isn't being reported more, but the 'rona in Fernie is BAD at the moment.

I'm looking at the webcam and the accumulation on the lodge is maybe 10cm. This has been the problem this year; when it does snow it doesn't snow hard enough for long enough. There haven't been any 3 day, 60+cm storms.

I'm thinking maybe tomorrow. It's been so damned cloudy lately.

I've been watching Revelstoke closely. Heading out that way this weekend.

Panorama was great the past few days - Taynton Bowl is fun skiing.

Made it out to Louise for some midweek powder yesterday. There was only 5cm on the snow report in the morning but it must have been measured without wind and/or prior to the big dump from 6am-10ish because it was more like 20-30cm. Boot top powder everywhere we went.

We got so many runs in without the weekend crowds and great untracked runs all over the mountain but I think the highlight was the lucky timing that led to the very first tracks down from the hike to Upper Boom. Praise Üllr!

Based on the cameras it's looking pretty busy up there right now. And the sun's out so I'm guessing everything has been skiied at this point. Probably still be decent but I wouldn't expect fresh anywhere. As long as it's still sunny it should be fun though.

Certainly better than 2 days ago.

I took tomorrow off to head out to the mountains, 1 day late on new snow is better than not going, IMO.

It'll be pretty good tomorrow still. Some of the higher runs are pretty windblown and icy this aft but lots of snow left in the usual pockets. Some great early morning tracks at the top today though. I'm not familiar with run names but a lot of the blacks off the backside were really good this aft still. Just hit ER3 (i think thats what it was called) and it was great. The rock garden off Larch was pretty worn out but if you head right off the chair there are still fresh tracks to be had in the trees.

Great day of riding overall.

ER3 is along the ridge from Paradise towards Ptarmigan just past Swedes.

Fernie got 10-15 last night, it was actually pretty good this AM. Needs to stay cold, get ski'd off and tracked out before the next snow fall though. Hopefully set up a softer base for when the dumps come because that rain crust suuuuuuucks.

Top half of Easter was some of the best turns of the year. Bottom half not so much. Polar Peak supposed to open this weekend but I'll believe it when I see it.

What an epic day at Louise. Whitehorn, ptarmigan trees, tower 12 all excellent.

Heading back out solo tomorrow, no kids = ski hard and no stopping.

General question, what information do the scanners see at Louise. They told my
Wife home many days so far but what other info pops up for them?
