4 assists from Shinkaruk is pretty sweet too. Would be nice if he came around too.

Took a big hit in the game against Milwaukee on Jan 7. According to Huska he is "day to day" not expected to be out long term. Huska said that on Jan 11.

Heat scratch Mangiapane!!!, Kanzig, Smith, Pribyl, McCollum

I don't think Mangiapane is injured, he scored the empty net goal last night with 2 mins remaining in the game. Maybe called up?

Alright, Kisker just confirmed that Mangiapane was healthy scratched, but looking at his stats it might be because he is struggling and they are trying to give him a "reset"

Besides the empty goal last night, Mangiapane has only 2 goals and 0 assists in his last 12 games and those 2 goals came in one game on New Year's Eve.

May have hit a rookie wall.

Condors score 3 straight goals and make it 4-3 Condors with 15 mins left in the game

Is it possible everyone has over rated Gillies, or does he just need to put together an injury free season?

Gillies may have been overrated a year or 2 ago but it's pretty clear to see that he has a lot of work to do. Rittich has definitely surpassed him on the goaltending depth chart.

You would think that, but Gillies is still getting most of the starts. I think the plan is for Gillies to be the goalie of the future, which is fair. I think if we needed a call up today it would be Rittich.

Goalies need a lot of seasoning in the AHL. If he's still not doing well 3 years from now then we can start saying he is a bust.

Not even close so far. Rittich number 2 in AHL in SAV%. Gillies ranked 30th in league in SAV%. Gillies still better SAV% than Demko.

Name GP Min GA SO GAA W L OT SA SAV%
David Rittich 14 823:19 28 4 2.04 7 5 1 395 0.929
Jon Gillies STK 23 1298:58 68 1 3.14 11 8 3 713 0.905

Stockton giving up too many shots on goal compared to competition:

1031 shots in 38 games Stockton Heat
924 shots in 38 games Ontario Reign

stats don't tell the whole story. I've seen so many games were Gillies allows 4 goals, but the Heat give up 35+ shots and all the goals are because of terrible defensive plays.
