XBox 360 or PS3 for RPG'S

Want to get a new gaming system and I am big on RPG's, which system has better titles and what would you recommend?

Before this turns into a massive flame war I'll weigh in. My personal preference is PS3, but then again I'm really not an RPG fan at all, so I can't speak for what the 360 has. The ones off the top of my head that everybody seems to love are Fallout 3, Fallout: Las Vegas, and Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 2 isn't quite out yet on PS3 but it is coming complete with all the download content included. The other two are available on both systems currently.

Somebody else will have to speak for the system exclusive RPGs as I just don't follow them closely enough.

I prefer PS3 just because the exclusive game please me. Uncharted 1 and 2, Infamous, Little Big Planet and God of War come to mind, but those are more action oriented games and that may not be up your alley.

I also like that the PS3 is a bluray player, as I never would have bought one otherwise.

I do prefer the 360 controller though. That will mainly boil down to personal preference.

What kind of RPGs do you like?

The best thing to do would be to look at the games list and see which ones you really want to play, and go from there. Many are cross-platform, so if you want more of those then it depends on the features of the console itself. From what I have seen, the 360 tends to favor more western-style RPGs, while the PS3 leans more to the Japanese style.

The big ones I can think of for the 360 are Fable and Mass Effect.

The PS3 has Uncharted, Demon's Souls, White Knight Chronicles, LBP, and Valkyria Chronicles (maybe not totally an RPG, but what the hell. it's great anyway).

Fallout, FF13, and Eternal Sonata are available on both.

Well my favorite RPG is Dragon Quest 8 but I also enjoyed Disgaea1,2, Fable, Final Fantasy's, ect.. Thanks for the replies! I am still using an original XBox and PS2 so I want to upgrade to one of the newer systems.

Disgaea 4 is exclusive for PS3.

Sounds like you are more of a Japanese RPG player. In that case, get a PS3.

The 360 has the best Western RPGs.

The PS3 has the best Eastern RPGs and Japanese exclusives.

Sounds like you'd like the PS3 a bit more.
