I don't know that there is much wrong with Tavares or his contract. Maybe not a high value deal but seems ok. Is he the issue in TO?
I would certainly trade any C off the Flames roster for him.

I dunno why it annoys me how they butchered Ovechin's nickname to the Great 8 and it stuck. It was supposed to be Alexander the Gr8. Like the conquerer. Now they just run with it, and it's nowhere as clever as it was originally supposed to be. I blame Hughson for starting it.

I wouldn’t say he’s the problem. But 11 million for a player who’s not producing a ppg is underwhelming. That leafs team needs a lot and 11 million would go a long way to fixing some holes. Just food for thought.

A lot of teams are going to be in the market for players they weren't a week or two ago. I really hope Brad can get some assets as a result.
Like someone said, I wouldn't be opposed to dealing Talbot if a 1st was coming back. Gillies has rebounded this season in Stockton, and we aren't poised to do much damage as it is, even if we make the dance.

Agree that they need the cap space so there is clearly an allocation issue. I've always liked Tavares and I know I posted here that the Flames should have offered McDavid money to get him when he was UFA. I wonder how that would have turned out. At least there would have been no Neal/Lucic, lol.
