There’s a possibility. I was amazed that the tv intermission panel talked about Dube and the flames getting and granting help for mental illness, considering many people were connecting dots earlier. Didn’t think they would say anything on the subject last night. They certainly didn’t mention world jrs.

I think that this is so gross (assuming it happened). Players using the mental health aspect to deal with criminal charges and ramifications is just not the intended use in my opinion.

Which only might actually happen because of a political s storm that forced the London Police to re open the file.
Which is a point that can't be understated. Many folks I know call the legal system, just that, the legal system, as opposed to the justice system because it's more rare than it should be.

I am going to believe Dillon is not one of the 5, but he could be one of the 3 who made a poor choice and he likely regrets that. Reading his quote with Francis from last year sounds like he must have witnessed something and " wanted to share" but cant yet. We will see, innocent until proven otherwise. But no question 5 guys did something now with today's news.

This had nothing to do with the NHL. The Canadian federal government cut off all funding, and would have shut down Hockey Canada completely had they not agreed to hire Henein Hutchison to conduct a proper investigation.
This caused the London Police to freak out, and they asked a judge to have the law firm turn over the findings of their investigation. You can read more about it here. https://www.tsn.ca/hockey-canada/jud...ault-1.1895563
Nobody comes out of this looking good. The NHL, the London Police, and especially, the players, who are now accused of repeatedly gang raping an innocent woman over a period of several hours.
If Dube turns out to be one of the accused, the Flames are going to have to answer some serious questions about the nature of the press release they issued when he left the team. The outpouring of support from fans is not likely to be repeated the next time a player needs time off to deal with that type of thing.

To me, with his lack of NHL interest, and statements. Combined with this, it isn't hard to read between the lines. See what happens I guess.

I'm 100% speculating possibilities here, but If I wasn't part of it, but knew about it, and said nothing to anyone about it at the time, there certainly could be a lot of regret/remorse about not coming forward that would take a mental toll.

Anything less than full and complete cooperation with the London Police and Henein Hutchison over the last five and a half years means that Dube is done in the NHL. It is obvious from independent reporting that he refused to hand over his phone when asked to do so repeatedly. I'm as big a Flames fan as anyone, but I'm sorry, cheering for someone who helped to cover up a gang rape is a bridge too far.

I don't disagree with the sentiment, and certainly think the Organization needs to feel serious blowback if this is how they presented a criminal charge against a player.
But, being charged for a crime would certainly erode someone's mental health substantially, wouldn't it? Not that it wasn't totally self inflicted, but it definitely could objectively cause someone to have a mental health crisis.
