The latter isn't that great but if you love the former, you kinda gotta watch it.
Really? Explain. I'm curious how they're connected and why I have to watch it. Big Iron Giant fan here.

The Iron Giant shows up as a vehicle/avatar in Ready Player One. It’s a neat reference but nothing more.

A more appropriate Iron Giant pairing would be Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

I loved Ready Player One thought the film was fantastic. My double bill for it would be:

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original) + Ready Player One

Yeah that's a pretty good pairing.
I had the benefit of watching Ready Player One without knowing that the Iron Giant was going to show up at all.
So it was a cool moment, as like many people, I'm just such a huge fan of that movie that to see that big damn robot back on the screen - was just cool.

Still have yet to see La La Land, it's in my own but still haven't watched pile. I liked the idea or theme of obsession and how it can destroy a person when I came up with Whiplash and Prestige.
