Today is the AHL trade deadline. The AHL transactions page lists that Stockton has acquired Calgarian Matt Marcinew from Springfield. No word yet on what they gave up if anything.

With the San Antonio Spurs selling the Rampage to Vegas, it left St. Louis without an affiliate for next season, with Chicago being open without one. Per the AHL website, the Blues have signed a five-year affiliate deal with the Springfield Thunderbirds. This now leaves the Florida Panthers and Chicago Wolves without affiliates.

It seems like it is magic number time.
The Heat's magic number is currently 5 wins/10 points, with 15 games remaining. Of those 15 there are 3 games remaining against Ontario, which is the top non-playoff team, so sweeping those 3 games would guarantee Stockton sees the post-season.
Bakersfield and San Jose are already officially eliminated from playoff contention.

Seems like Pospisil, Ruzicka and Tuulola have been finding their stride late in the season. It's good news the the next crop of players the Flames can call up.

Ruzicka and Tuulola both had a pretty good start to the season as well.
Hopefully the Flames clear out a couple vets (e.g. Czarnik/Frose) for next year and give the kids some more opportunity to shine.

Eetu Tuulola has a ton of pro-experience for a 21 year old. He has 121 SM- Liiga games to pair with his 49 AHL games he has this season. The question with his though, has always been whether or not he can skate at an NHL level.

Organization was very pleased with how Tuulola, Ruzicka and Pospisil progressed. They had benefit of strong veterans (and sophomores) that could do the heavy lifting, allowing them to bring that trio along slowly.

I was getting worried about Ruzicka during his draft +1 and +2 seasons, good seasons but not exactly tracking towards an impact NHLer, but 54gp 10g 17a 27pts is pretty impressive for a 20 y/o in the AHL.
