A. The blue of the Alberta flag looks terrible on a red, yellow, black and white jersey.
B. Just slapping flags on a jersey looks incredibly lazy.
If they created a patch that incorporates the maple leaf and the Alberta shield somehow, I'd be ok with that.

I kinda liked it the first couple times, but like anything, if you see it every five minutes it's gonna get old quick.
I don't know why they didn't edit it a bunch of different ways. They obviously filmed all those guys spelling out their entire names at least once, but only spliced it together one way.

i think i read on cp a while ago that the flames had originally wanted to use just the 'center seal' of the albetra flag, but for some reason they also had to use the blue flag part
i don't recall the reason for the blue being required though

The lack of leaks may point to just how exceptionally small the majority of changes may be this time around. If the biggest change is the collar style & manufacturer/league logos... there's just nothing that exciting about sharing a shot of a whole jersey.
Or the NHL/Adidas put the fear of god into anyone who's seen them, and really is keeping things tight as drum this time around.
