Default "Rolling Greens" golf course to open...bring your ball and your bong!

I don't know why I find this so hilarious.

Pretty interesting business model though.

Quote:
Rolling Greens is a cannabis-themed golf course in Lombard, just outside of Smith’s Falls, that allows golfers to light up while they get a few rounds in. With an on-brand motto (“Come roll with us”) and a location just 45 minutes away from Ottawa, owner Gordon Weiske is optimistic that Rolling Greens could become a popular destination for the burgeoning cannabis tourism industry.

They have to do something to 'un-suckify' Golf.

Funny coincidence that the name of the golf course used for Bushwood in Caddyshack was Rolling Hills.

I gather slow play would be the norm for such a course, perhaps they would penalize playing too fast.

My guess is the difference here is they'll have overpriced pot for sale. Of course if were the police I'd probably be having an indefinite checkstop outside the course.

Right, because no one drinks on other courses.

Yeah, but what golf course is advertising "Come to Malt Liquor G&CC"? This course is literally saying come get high, and since the DUI laws with pot are less firm than drinking (i.e. BAC is defined, being "high" is a police judgement call), there's more opportunity to nail people for being high.

This is likely inevitable, but I don’t like it.

Although the golf course is currently a strictly bring-your-own cannabis operation, for now, Weiske is open to onsite cannabis sales. The option is off the table for the time being, however, as the Ontario government has opted to issue 25 retail licenses across the province.
Bring your own pot... for now
