Bruce Boudreau comes to mind. Got to Calder Cup finals, was promoted to NHL, then Washington led the division in all of his full seasons there.
Cooper as well. The Crunch led the league and won the championship, then Cooper was promoted. Tampa finished with over 100 points in Cooper's first full season.
Dan Bylsma was coaching in the AHL, was promoted midseason, then won the Stanley Cup the same season.
